Now the longest serving current US governor Rick Perry from Texas governor welcome it's good to be here thank you.
Well I want to ask you about jobs number one concern he said the first job of any governor.
Is providing jobs how have you done it.
Texas he really is most important thing government does is create the environment where that the job creators out there in the -- or know that they can risk their capital.
So you're gonna have to have a tax structure that's relatively.
-- -- a regulatory climate that's fair predictable legal system and then allow for over suing.
And continue to fund accountable public school so you got a -- work force in get out of the way.
That's what government all too often gets confused about they wanna stay -- be involved and and be no more government which means more taxes more regulation.
And at the end of it.
Are -- let me show folks out there the numbers for Texas and how they line -- You look at the -- jobs were created during the recession up to now take a look at what Texas is done.
New York a puny -- that 98000 Pennsylvania.
Not much either you look at all other states combined 266000.
That's almost what Texas create.
-- now as a matter fact.
Texas created almost half of the jobs -- United States.
Obviously for the decade of the two thousands we were out there creating jobs -- we were creating an environment again I want to get back to that that's government's most important job.
Keep the taxes low the regulatory climate -- predictable legal system and doesn't allow for over soon we just passed loser pays.
In Texas what's on on the legal side that means that if somebody sees you frivolously.
Instead you have to pick up your core -- in your legal fees.
The person that -- you frivolously are gonna have to -- those -- wow let me tea that is such a powerful message on top of the legal system that we had in place to gave our doctors coverage from.
Frivolous lawsuits in 2003.
Over well almost 2000 new doctors came in -- taxes in the last six years because they know they're not going to be.
We -- -- show folks what some of these names that have come to Texas look like that would got a graphic we want to show people and look I was just speaking to other Fella from Carl's junior who told me.
It's not just the right climate there's a little bit -- you personally going out there writing up the telephone and calling people on saying we want should it come to Texas.
We talked corporate executives all across the country at a caterpillar and now Caterpillar's may not only their engine manufacturing but they're hydraulic manufacturing.
To the state of Texas.
I'm probably -- were on the phone is why it is yesterday.
Talking to companies are about coming to the state of Texas but that's the beauty of I think.
That being respectful of the tenth amendment -- the -- says that the federal government was created by the states.
An agent for the states not the other way around so letting -- states compete against each other is how America's well back.
I have right now it remains -- of Texas now because I keep hearing stories of bad delegations from California and other places coming to visit.
But the important question I want to ask you.
There are a lot of economists out there are a lot of really Smart people who say the jobs problem in this country.
Not just Texas but sea to shining -- it's systemic we have to have it this way this is the future.
This is tomorrow do you agree with that.
I have a little bit of a simplistic view.
And and and and Washington has to address our budget.
There's too much spinning going on in Washington the taxes are too -- the regulatory climate.
Is too burdensome for instance the EPA's coming -- to Texas to try to take over our air permitting process they're coming and department of interior to.
List -- a new lizard out in west Texas that -- shut down the Permian Basin.
That is as anti job.
As you as you can get in this country -- this administration has to quit.
Putting the burden on the job creators and allow pay a tax structure in place that lowers the burden.
A regulatory climate that does not strangle.
Innovation and job creation.
And allow this country to get -- -- job creating which is.
