A minute take a listen to what the president said after the horrendous jobs numbers that were released Friday listen this.

There -- always going to be bumps.

On the road to recovery.

We're gonna.

Passed through some rough terrain.

Bumps on the road you're -- really tell -- -- a fourteen million Americans out of work.

And get this just hours after showing his total lack of sympathy or empathy for what's going on and main street.

Mr.

Obama -- his tone deafness by hitting the links for his 71 round of golf.

By the way he hasn't missed the weekend in ten weeks meanwhile -- struggling under the weight of tornadoes rocket launches and a balance sheet that's exploding with the red ink.

Joining us now -- spiral Fox News digital politics editor.

Who says the economy the weak economy that was the most damage to the president's reelection message Chris.

Obama tone deaf or deer in the headlights.

That's that that's sort of -- pure choice there isn't it look I think the president is.

He knows what his problem is he wouldn't be going out talking about the bailouts if -- didn't.

He's looking for something to sell on the economy.

Because quite frankly the argument that says.

It could've been worse is a very hard argument to take to people when you go to voters and say.

Look if we wouldn't have done these unpopular things in the bailouts were very unpopular.

We wouldn't have done these unpopular things things would be much worse right now.

You're trying to prove a negative and it's just it doesn't work and I think the administration knows as they are gearing this up.

They know that if unemployment stays at these -- levels and remember we have.

The highest long term unemployment since the Great Depression higher long term unemployment and during the depression.

We have a serious jobs problem in the country the administration knows it.

They're looking for something to talk about they just don't have a lot of but I.

Right they they caught a bump in the road meanwhile unemployment nine point 1%.

Third fourteen of 26 million ought to work if you add to people who are under employed -- to school to -- six number it's on the the government's website consumer confidence crashing home prices falling.

Foreclosures exploiting what is working in the -- anything working.

Well I think you know there are success stories around the country and certainly somebody like Rick -- a potential -- -- presidential contender is saying a state like Texas with.

Restrictions on.

A plaintiff's lawsuits with low taxes and those things.

-- the Republicans say that they have an argument that they can make now what's going to be challenging for the Republicans especially somebody like Mitt Romney.

Is to say.

To get Americans to imagine what this -- gonna bring them and how they're gonna get -- -- that's challenging because oftentimes voters go with the devil they know rather than the devil they -- You know I I was listening to the weekend talk shows and then Pelosi is out there saying -- you know basically.

Don't look at one month it's not a trend and that they're really looking progress from grasping at straws.

There is a big fear on the left that economy does going to a double dip.

Mr.

-- gonna have a hard time getting reelected.

Well the the democrats' previous -- was -- Republicans are not getting into the race because they're afraid.

They're not getting in because they know that now that he has killed Osama bin Laden is unbeatable and all of that talk evaporated very quickly and it it tells you what.

That kind of chest thumping is -- and politics.

Democrats know that if this is more than a bump in the road if this is the start of a slide into a second round of recession or even quite frankly I'd point out.

If growth stays under let's say 3% GDP.

I don't.

-- a good path to reelection for a bombing it's and it's not out there he needs to get that number over 3% and he needs unemployment down to get to get at least to 7% -- 74.

It runs could -- -- before I lose CIA I have to ask you this site I've been out there saying that John Bryson the president's commerce secretary nominee.

Is a top is a bad -- outright bad choice here's a guy who's.

You know starting -- -- group that -- call for the elimination of bubble oil and all fossil fuels completely.

Meanwhile this is the guys weren't gonna run the Commerce Department -- -- off -- and it's a very very important nomination that he's he's missed the boat on.

Well it's very revealing at least you know that the administration was not expecting bad jobs numbers like this when they chose a politically divisive person.

To run the agency that's charged with Lee -- thing with the business community.

To help grow the private sector that's what commerce is supposed to do that right that secretaries missed it picking a guy who is also an environmental activist and pushing cap and trade.

Says that maybe the administration didn't have its ducks lined up as as things butter missed the ball despite a little bit perhaps -- they -- Chris stock.
