This -- Fox Business is on red ink watch tonight we focus on the senate leadership's lack of movement.

On budget proposal and a budget deal -- vice president Joe Biden is scheduled to hold the fifth round of debt talks this Thursday.

It is now been 768.

Days since the senate last passed a budget resolution.

In that time the United States is accumulated.

More than three trillion dollars of debt.

Over that time federal spending.

Has totaled more than seven trillion dollars.

And in that time taxpayers have made 413.

Billion dollars and net interest payments.

-- the nation's debt continues to rise the senate democratic leadership still.

Still has not proposed about.

Senator Jeff Sessions Republican of Alabama says majority earlier Reid has made a mockery of the budget process and senator -- joins us now.

From Capitol Hill good to have you whether senator.

Thank you -- senator good to hear that report on they on immigration decisions and it.

That was on I'm delighted to hear that I have this -- it is it is remarkable that the turn that is.

That has occurred here in this country.

Since the decision upholding the -- on our workers sanctions law.

It is in the minds of many an opportunity to see real.

Real progress and and reaching any solution to the route to the issue of illegal immigration.

Senator if I may turn to to the budget.

And as you have have noted.

And in the course of 867.

Days the same number that this president has been an office.

In 768.

Days the senate has done almost nothing.

There are concerning a bunch I mean that that's that's my.

-- mark.

It really is in just a few days ago majority leader Harry Reid.

Democrat leader in the senate.

Said it would still be foolish to a -- about.

-- who would it be foolish for the public interest would be foolish for America's fiscal disaster we're on how would -- be foolish to do it.

No he meant politically it would be foolish because he would have to reveal I think.

To the American people what his plans are for spending and taxes and deaths.

And now we're on a very very dangerous course -- this is not a little bitty matter.

The jobs numbers we had last week -- -- direct result.

Increasing debt we have the economists tell us that.

So we -- in a situation where we've got to change we've got to get on a path that takes the progress and prosperity.

The one -- -- own now leads us to decline.

And in danger.

There as we look at some of those numbers.

I mean is it truly is staggering.

Zero obviously -- Budget Committee markup scheduled this year just they're not even scheduled.

Are apparently.

At least in the view the majority leader's office.

They feel that the the effort led by vice president.

-- -- will result.

In progress how how hopeful are you of that possibility.

Well I'm uneasy about -- a secret meeting on a bus involved day to the American people know who's in those meetings do.

What are they saying.

What plans are they going to plopped down farce and ask us to sign.

With some short.

Notice on in the congress.

I don't think that's the right way we should be doing an openly.

Through the committee the congressional budget act requires that the committee.

-- -- hearings in.

-- April 1 and pass a budget by April 15 we've not even commence the first here.

So this is not responsible.

All the way to proceed and -- debt is soaring to a degree we've never ever seen it before.

The senator.

These meetings with vice president -- The secrecy -- the lack of transparency and openness the very.

That you're very qualities that President Obama.

-- promised he would deliver for his administration upon being.

Upon taking office.

What what do you think the solutions are what has to be done.

I -- done soon to return in this country to fiscal responsibility.

I hate to use the word responsibility.

-- -- is often in Washington from.

-- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- It is very -- use that word.

Forty cents of every dollar we are now spending is -- and we are spending 3700.

Billion we are taking in only 2200.

Billion dollars.

It's the likes of which we've never ever done this before.

And his son and dangerous is pulling down our economic growth is costing us jobs in the numbers for jobs last week -- horrible.

So yes I think we in time to go public discussion about that.

I think is really important in what we really need is the president to look the American people in.

And say we can't keep doing this we're not -- Spain because we don't want to help people we're cutting spending because we don't have the money.

It's threatening our fees -- future -- couldn't put us on the road to decline.

It's not something that we need to -- lightly and it is hard to do when the president is basically attacking people.

Like Powell run in the house who put forward a responsible budget may not be perfect but it really gets us on the right path -- -- Absolutely I mean whatever one thinks of the proposal.

Congressman Ryan by any standard has to be given great credit for bringing in mature declaration of the issues through to the forefront.

On entitlements.

Who -- again that's a lousy word.

But it is the word that of course is overtaken the you know what's McConnell Washington DC.

Senator Jeff Sessions were delighted to have -- -- review is always in good years one of the most important voices bringing.

And sense of responsibility through.

For the governance of the republic we thank you very much senator.

Thank.
