Joining me now is Stephen Elop the CEO of Nokia -- happy to have you here today my pleasure.

All right so let's talk right after that that's -- news hitting that tech blogs the year a rumor out there that Microsoft may be interested in buying some of Nokia's -- for nineteen million dollars and devices division.

What's your response to that absolutely rumors that are baseless there's no truth of the whatsoever aren't so what does this mean about -- strategy in future.

Nokia I in light of the fact that.

No one else is coming in and and getting involved in the company to take -- other divisions what is the future hold for Nokia.

So in February we announced a whole collection of strategic changes for the company that recognize some of the trends that removing against us in the industry.

Key elements of that included a partnership with Microsoft to.

Essentially establish an environment where we could deliver some very compelling mobile devices based on the windows phone operating system.

We're very pleased with the progress we're making on that and looking forward to the introduction of some of the first devices later this year.

And when -- those devices come into the market place pricing I know is certainly game and issued and something that you're tinkering away at.

-- -- is sort of said the -- So the conversations are well underway with the operators in the marketplace today as well as plans all over the world so as we said yesterday it is the case that regaining confidence being able to have all -- -- place side during 2011.

Let's talk about the marketplace we note that.

Tablets are coming into the picture Smartphones are coming into the picture and all of this creates a very.

He gets a lot of great choices for consumers but can be very confusing at least from the supplier side.

What is your prospective interns and where everything is going -- relative play itself out.

Thought I think first of all it's important to note that it is the very early stages of this whole mobile revolution.

There's so much still to be discovered still to be invented and that's a big part of our strategy focus has to make sure that we're focused.

On those future disruptions whether they are new form factors new platforms new user experiences that's a key part of our strategy is to make sure that we're taking a holistic view.

Of where the market goes because it's not all over right now it's just beginning.

And so from a consumer perspective there are mannequins confusing choices and so forth though there.

From a supplier perspective it's seen as a major opportunity it's an opportunity for fresh growth in the future.

What about competition.

We know that competition is very fierce in the industry.

What is it that Nokia is looking to do you to step up its competitive stance.

Within the marketplace I think.

The most important thing is to recognize that the competitive dynamics have changed quite a bit it used to be -- pop bottle of devices this device vs -- device.

But now it's shifted to a war of ecosystems where it's not just the device but all the software and services around that environment.

And what we've done in terms of our partnership with Microsoft is established that thirty ecosystem in the marketplace.

And it's on that basis that we believe will be competing very effectively against the other environments that already exist.

I -- this is a big deviation for you to taken another party's operating system and in department in deviate from near Cindy an operating system.

What -- sort of signal -- philosophically.

About about Nokia had where -- where you're looking up.

-- -- well it signals a couple things one is through this change we believe that we will actually be able to increase the rate at which we bring our innovation to market.

Second we believe that will be able to better focus our R&D dollars on those elements that -- differentiators from Nokia.

You'll be operating system is important but there are critical areas of development in terms of hardware and design and all sorts of capabilities and -- we have unique assets and we need to invest more in those areas.

We can work with Microsoft to make sure that the platform is there that we need and together we have a wonderful solution Alaska.

And before we and things as I just have to ask you because it certainly.

Took -- -- two days ago the profit warning in the stock price falling the stock price kind of regaining its -- ever so slightly.

Is Nokia -- best -- at this position to take on indeed in this market -- as you have been for so.

Actually yesterday's results they were very disappointed they were very disappointing but they underscored.

The necessity of us making the strategy change that we did that we announced in February.

At this point we are totally focused on moving faster than we ever have before to deliver great mobile products -- the market and to deliver great shareholder results.

And so through this period we have tremendous assets and our people in our balance sheet in our reach in the market place in our ability to build great devices to build that thirty ecosystem.

So we believe are poised better than ever before to move forward into the future.

Fantastic Stephen Elop the CEO at Nokia happy to have.

Just think you.
