Yesterday the senate voted to reauthorize key provisions of the Patriot Act.

The law invades our personal privacy and is ultimately unconstitutional.

For example -- permits federal agents to violate the Fourth Amendment.

-- writing their own search warrants rather than going to judges as the constitution requires to get search warrants from that.

Now the Patriot Act goes to the House of Representatives for vote.

Where my next guest will certainly be a no vote here now north Carolina Republican congressman Walter Jones congressman Jones welcome back to freedom watch.

Judge thank you so much and you're right I will be voting no tomorrow absolutely why will you vote against the Patriot Act which is supported by the president the leadership of the Republicans in the house.

The leadership of the Democrats in the house was passed overwhelmingly.

It's tough for me to say this division you and I agree on it passed overwhelmingly by several congresses.

During the bush years why is Walter Jones shoveling against that tide.

Well I had the honor and the privilege to read a book written -- a man that I have great respect.

And the boats tied it was a nation of sheet.

You know the author of that book this idea who you're broadcasting.

Well that I -- necessarily because that was more than just the book they got me feeling this way but.

-- that is added in the book and that is when people will sale of their liberties or give their liberties to the government to take care of them.

Then that is the end of our country -- Do you think.

That there's sort of a bandwagon.

Effect in fever.

Of the Patriot Act and if you think about it for a minute one of the reasons we fought the revolution against the British.

Is because the king and parliament authorized British soldiers to write their own search warrants and a British soldier would knock on the door of a columnist house.

And he and the count as a piece of paper in which he had authorized himself to enter the house we fought the revolution we -- the revolution we wrote a constitution.

In part to assure that that would not happen now we -- federal agents do the same thing.

Right a sign a piece of paper authorizing themselves to search and seize our records.

We're judge you and I both know that this started on the President Bush after 9/11.

And I think what has happened is that the American people have not been is engaged as they need to be.

About this civil liberties and that's why wanted to be on your show and thank you for what you're doing.

I tried to educate inform the American people.

As to the danger of what is happening tomorrow with this vote on the reauthorization that Patriot Act -- least part of it.

And also the continuing overreach by the federal government into our -- -- with the exception of people like you and -- and a lot of folks watching us tonight.

Do you think that Americans have given up the ghost of their right to privacy.

And on their fourth amendment rights there should be an enormous outcry I -- -- former Cold War.

For forty years against governments and Eastern Europe in large measure because they did to their people.

What this law allows federal agents to do to -- knock on doors in the middle of the night.

Plant bugs secretly in people's houses seize their documents without them knowing when knowing about it and none of this has supervised or authorized by -- judge.

Judge I think those that are watching the show tonight need to pick up the phone tomorrow morning and called a member of congress and -- -- -- are you gonna do.

About protecting my civil liberties why are you gonna vote for this legislation.

That's what we really need from the American people is an outrage that you're trying to you in being encouraged not -- -- but to educate that said that people understand.

That we are sacrifice and our constitutional rights.

Congressman Jones it's a pleasure keep up the good fight thanks for joining us --
