Social Security.

Michael Reagan -- -- also all the new or Reagan revolution and he is here.

What do you make of that big I don't think you can actually balance the budget without doing something about Medicare how long term what do you make of this poll -- Well yeah -- -- show used more people taking and giving at this point in time and that's what you get and that's what my father warned about.

Back in 1960 when we talk about socialized medicine.

The fact that people 65 years of age and older who have private insurers.

Are forced to take Medicare over private insurance is just outrageous to me at that this for the gave that in fact the government goes out -- in place.

If you're on Medicare you'll notice people are already being cut because the government.

In fact cuts the amount of dollars they give to doctors who take on Medicare patients therefore doctors are taking less and less Medicare patients.

Out there that's so it's very tough for somebody on Medicare to find -- Doctor Who in fact hate them so the government's already cutting it.

So how are you going to fix it you're going to have to go into Medicare.

And do something -- Medicare Social Security so in fact that next generation my children and my grandchildren.

Have something when they in fact retire.

-- second Mike because -- I think it was almost exactly.

Fifty years ago that you would dad before he was president walnut country about the entitlement culture that could come from programs like Medicare a way to listen for a second -- I think we got him on -- saying it.

Well.

One of the traditional methods of imposing speeches -- socialism -- -- people has been by way of medicine it's very easy.

To disguise a medical program as a humanitarian project.

He used to told him bolt comes didn't you just coal socialism that's one of the things you don't hear about these days do you Estonia.

-- you don't.

That was 1961.

Yeah.

He was telling us that he was even think you know running for governor and thinking sixty when he was doing a television show called General Electric creator.

And of course that worked out well -- Bobby Kennedy called at a G and -- fired.

But correctly then I don't think that it was say that that was only 61 Mike is that absolutely true but we wanna get pulled ahead of General Electric.

And called -- a G whose contract for coming up government contract.

And told that they -- -- -- -- government contracts to fire rather regular lose General Electric Theater within 72 hours.

While Reagan was jobless G theater was off the -- in the rest is history.

-- politics doesn't change much does this -- I'm -- much at all but tell -- about California.

How they did and -- that -- still flat broke all wash up at.

Well we're still flat broke you just did story god.

The prison guard next week I'm a prison guard what -- I thank it could cook cut the best job in this state.

You get you get everything you want any more.

And everybody knew that would Jerry brown and everybody the unions are gonna control Jerry Brown he's not gonna go after pensions of you know local after -- in this state you're not gonna solve the problem the state the six billion dollars actually think gave me and a couple of weeks ago he's already spending that money -- to go reduce the deficit it's going to be spent.

And that's exactly what -- -- California -- -- terrible mistake here.

Op idled all we have time to write the mistake we still have this governor for three more years in the course of state legislature which is completely out of control.

I just wanna go back to that for a second because he was president for eight years.

I don't think he was able despite.

Having a lot of congressional backing and being a very prestigious president.

I don't think he was able to rein in entitlement programs as he -- -- -- didn't.

Know you can't say it's very tough to do that look at -- -- that are out there today there's still program offer bridge Republicans just don't go and people.

I made this of the game is played in Washington DC.

And and he couldn't rein in entitlements but you go back to 1990s.

Newt Gingrich speaker of the house Bill Clinton -- United States.

They did reform welfare which help balance the budget.

In the 1990s.

So we need to reform what's going on with Medicare we need to reform what's going on with -- security so in fact we can get to a balanced budget stay there.

But the problem has always been spending.

When more money comes to the Washington DC what do they do they find other areas to spend -- that you -- Medicare for years as a way to entice people to in fact both for them.

On Election Day and it has worked.

Mike right and we appreciate -- being with as the voice of reason -- from California always good stuff -- might appreciate it.
