The US jet has been called the biggest -- in history as we are literally stealing money away from generations has -- her unborn.
What we need our lawmakers who get this our next guest is one of the few lawmakers who do.
She doesn't support raising the debt ceiling and it's calling for drastic cuts to the budget.
Here now the founder of the house Tea Party caucus Minnesota Republican congresswoman.
And it's a pleasure welcome back to freedom watch.
Aching -- -- -- -- -- Chuck Schumer and not someone who wishes the Republican Party or the Tea Party ears of those who believe in small government.
And maximum individual liberty well.
This morning was taped on telephone call with reporters saying that speaker Boehner is in a box and basically I think by that congress senator Schumer meant.
He has to choose between compromise and a Democrat in the White House and the blue dog Democrats in the house that.
Along with a True Blue dyed in the wool fiscal conservatives called the Tea -- -- what do you expect the speaker of the house to do.
Well he's about to put forth the next budget proposal and we aren't exactly sure what's going to be an at -- I think that.
What we've seen is that Chuck Schumer and Harry Reid.
And also Howard Dean have made the democrats' position abundantly clear.
And it's that they want to see the government shut down they have to own that now.
They come out -- and essentially said that is their position we said that is not our position.
It's -- -- basically said that that.
On the left side they have no interest in compromising.
We want to actually do something practically.
For the American people so we get this budget done.
And so you can't -- the Tea Party any longer is being extremists.
Because now we know all the stick in the mud are really unfortunately on the Democrat side let's get done with this people are tired of these games.
Let's just solve this thing and move on with that big issues right now to deal -- Let's solve this thing gets out of his game playing.
-- -- what what do you think will happen next I mean I.
I don't think even you with your knowledge of of the way the house works what are projected as a two week continuing resolution here.
At three we continuing resolution there I mean let's face it congresswoman Bachmann next Friday.
April 4 the government runs out of the power to spend money at -- about that time it will probably also reached the debt ceiling.
Which which means -- run out of power to borrow money.
It's not inconceivable that both of those powers will legally expire at the same day.
And congress will have nothing in place what will happen that.
Well if we if if the budget clock runs out then the government parts of the government essentially.
It slows down.
And what I've understood is that 14 of the government or the nonessential workers.
Would be the ones that are out of a job that three force of the government this is what I was told today.
Would continue to go for Social Security checks that still -- -- the military will continue to get paid essential government services would continue to go forward.
So I shut town doesn't mean I've total and complete shutdown it's really only about 14.
So that's that's what would happen but.
You can't go like that very long because like you said judge if you -- if we don't raise the debt ceiling at a certain point we have a problem with borrowing.
And then we have to prioritize our spending but that the positive -- if there is one in this is that this is crystallized thing.
Our focus on the need to actually have true and real reform we can't kick this can down the road.
We've got to solve this we have to -- it cast be solved by cutting spending all right that.
But the the competing parties are are all over the place.
The president -- they had a half a -- -- alone.
Just in the spending between now and September 30.
The Democrats are willing to make about four billion and cosmetic cuts the Republican leadership wants to make about sixty billion and what you what I would call cosmetic cuts.
You on the Tea Party -- wanna make some serious cuts you wanna cut Obama -- out of there you wanna take more than a hundred billion out of there question.
Will the Republican leadership let you do list.
Or will John Boehner and Eric Cantor align themselves with the white house on the blue dog Democrats rather than what Michelle Bachmann and Ron Paul.
And the Tea Party Republicans.
-- remember in the last continuing resolution but we had 54.
Vote with us that was -- powerful statement.
Because in the prior resolution -- six -- so we grew from six to 54 in part thanks to your help on that.
Letting more people know about how important this says.
Just the newest rest -- -- just cannot judge 58%.
In the American people want us to get rid of obamacare.
President Obama promised the American people.
That the average household -- see -- 2500.
Dollar reduction in their health insurance premium today it's actually spiking up twenty to 40% this is an extremely popular issue.
This is the fight that we should hang out and I cannot in good conscience vote for a budget if we don't defund obamacare but that does -- tap.
Does John Boehner understand what Michelle Bachmann understands.
Or is he just willing to engage in some kind of a compromise.
On that issue will go away stated differently -- he recognized he wouldn't be the speaker of the house don't warrant for the Tea Party years on the Republican caucus.
I do think that the leadership understands the importance of the Tea Party I I do I think they understand that they would not have that gavel.
But for the reasonable common sense people all across this country.
Democrats independents libertarians apolitical people conservatives.
Who make up the Tea Party who gave him that gavel they do understand that.
I don't know what their final decision will be -- -- they haven't said yet but we're making it very clear.
Many of us in the congress that we want to see.
All right before I let you go if that is the speaker of the house does side with the Democrats and the white house on the blue dogs in the House of Representatives.
Is their civil war in the Republican Party do Tea Party -- challenge old line old guard Republicans and Republican primaries next year.
Well that will happen in each congressional district level and that -- constituents that are served by that number will have to make that decision it won't be for us in congress it.
It's not up to politicians it's up to the people and that's the beauty of our system of government we are we the people.
And so they'll -- that wants to make that decision.
Fifteen seconds left will you vote to raise the debt ceiling and let the president borrow more money.
Now congresswoman Bachmann it's a pleasure it's always a pleasure thanks for joining us -- freedom issue thank you the last time there is.
