-- graphic on the whole network I love acting welcome back if he's your questions your money on -- Fox Business Network.
-- good pitch -- -- or wants to give people a chance to become the stock.
Joining -- bin -- one of the creators of breaking through to tell us not us.
About your idea Tim Draper is here how often.
When and its famous venture capitalist ever and his son who's in the music business is also here.
Billy Draper said then pitch away our rights are breaking through -- a new total 360 degree marketing platform for music.
We put together.
For genre specific showcases.
The first one yet with the other night sponsored by VH one save the music.
As well as millennium prime and sprite green so we've attracted big name sponsors what we do -- we bring in top executives.
Not -- top executives in music fashion entertainment marketing.
Because we want to get these people signed to the the deal that will make the money we -- in a top executives and enough more consumers.
Have released the newest artist and the hottest people in these -- so we did popcorn they.
And we have rock.
Unplug and hip hop we're gonna -- -- winner from each for the finals which will be in January.
And the winner doesn't get railroaded into an American Idol record deal that locks -- -- the next ten years of their life.
What they get a V exposure we're gonna get them a spot to open in this genre specific major concert.
We're gonna film and music video for them get the major -- spot to perform and a late night television show -- depend on what music genre there.
And starting in September as a way of really getting -- -- we filmed everything -- reality series.
What the real struggles -- in breaking through in the music industry not every rapper was a drug deal or not every country star got run out by their parents.
You know they're real story for these people they've kids and lives -- Federer.
And most people want to see that that's -- You know when when you get until later episodes of Project Runway and Kevin -- from Project Runway was one of our sponsors you know the great thing is that you get to see.
What it's like to have real support systems or to not have them and have to do this at night it's better.
OK so I -- throw your curve ball from a terrible.
Why are you doing that's why am I -- I mean you got.
Via American Idol you guys garageband.
-- all these other things out there.
And and so there's a lot of competition.
But I do know that -- you know there's Billy Draper Beckham my daughter is also on valley girl on line -- created whether it's.
They're looking for exposure.
But there seem to be a lot of options for them -- nobody's connected -- -- start to finish starting starting in the fall will actually be doing so online sales -- our voting method.
To utilizing a widget called the biz know created by the people created -- mobile's world renowned.
We're gonna do online sales which will track that will be the voting system so when the artist makes money.
Which they get 85% of all the revenues.
Then they get to make it to the -- case and then they get exposure from the reality show they showcase where -- the top executives there.
And then if they win.
They get more exposure to the ideas why do this we've connected the dots iTunes is just a sales model.
MySpace is just a social networking that has a concert tour now but nobody is really aimed at artists.
And I wanted to do it because they need this -- so why do you personally care about.
Why why why that -- -- -- that in your heart I started marketing agency called cal experience I opened up the talent wing and I wanted to get my artists' exposure and rather than shopping and to individual labels.
Which seemed sort of pointless and to take too much time I have wanna bring them to us and I grew up being a very altruistic person had great family.
And I said -- -- we come up with a concept that will connect it all the way through.
The money will be there in a long term with the TV show with the sponsors for the events and then we were so impressed.
By VH one's and effort with us and they were so impressed.
As well that they just agreed to be our partners to the next four shows and they're so excited Denise dikes.
You know called me just ecstatic after the event we had such buzz celebrities there everyone loves the idea.
Giving a total platform from sales to TV performance.
OK so we cheated a little we went to your side I also checked.
Some of the ratings.
And you don't have much traffic yet so here's Billy he's -- brock's rap star.
Are getting division and -- what is what is he why is this attracted to him.
The -- it Billy went -- wise -- attractive view.
Yes so why would so so how do I get to the show you so there's a showcase a -- I was a musician -- gifted and -- The musician gets featured in the showcase right now for the next three shows of this year.
By sending in all of their performance video we've actually had record label send us artists that they are looking at.
We've had tons of contact through our VP of -- talent he gave Betancourt and -- Jones we're just in touch with everything viral.
And everyone comes to us and -- submitted everything and for these first shows we've we've focused on not just great music -- great performances.
Because that's what owns -- crowd and really performances where artists make their money that everyone wants concert money -- iTunes and downloads.
It's a very small percentage of what artists make.
But eventually as I said we'll take the top three download it sales so you make money by selling your music.
Now your fans have an incentive.
Rather than voting online for American Idol or any of these other things even attempted to buy your music you wanna be -- breaking through sell your song download one song.
And that's and that's why you should do it and how do you guys make your money.
We make money through some of the sponsorship even -- we give a good portion of VH one save the music -- sure there will be a future breaking through artists.
You know music programs are very important but -- make it through the television production.
We make it through sponsorship and a very small piece less than 5% of the downloaded -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- They did all all my I mean I have MySpace is pretty easy way to get your music out there.
What MySpace is problem as the fact that a they have a ton of negativity surrounding him.
Why do you think FaceBook took over yet that nice face by news corporate parent company that don't get -- -- -- what we just had to say that it's okay you've got to look.
But that the fact of the matter is even MySpace hasn't come up with a solid about a month and that other one right -- But MySpace MySpace has.
Has not connected the dots from sales to performance and in line for the unknown artists.
And that's what we're doing we're saying let's give all of these unknown -- a chance to get to the next level and make money while you're doing.
Our -- and Billy given the final war we'll wait how much real conflict.
We need less than a 100000 dollars to just get our web -- to where it needs to be that the only component missing we have the sales model built by the -- now.
Which is already a 100% functional and has millions of dollars behind it we just need our website a 100000 which is.
Point out it's not venture capital -- but.
No regularly actually we do have a garage program.
That looks that investments moment million dollars and and this would be something that we would consider and is doing our -- and well a verdict desire I would need to know a lot more.
But it's it's very interest thing.
I do think that the artists some -- need to deal to connect to their audience as directly as possible.
I'm not sure if you don't get you don't become just a feature of MySpace.
And who -- do you think -- And I -- I think I think it's important for the user to even it even if it's not the case of news should feel like.
They're connected to the artists and somehow and you putting up a little bit of a buffer between between the two which is potentially great worth it.
Well that's exactly what we're doing that the venture capital that we would seek and I heard you say the -- money you can do it for the better.
I don't I don't need to spend money -- -- you know I can get it done for what I need to get it done.
Yeah ideas to the artists -- upload their content not fight the barriers you need to get on iTunes so the artist with our website -- done.
They can upload their music to the -- know right now.
By the way the small amount.
Was more attractive to me -- if you were asking for a larger.
Because it might end up being something that MySpace -- -- buying or whatever and for our garage program we're somewhat comfortable with.
I'm glad you cleared up that misconception because -- -- often people say.
That's not venture capital money that's not that that's too small that's too small -- -- glad that that -- Chris.
No no we like a -- and -- early we like that it.
The FK we like to -- And it and it makes sense why not let's just running things as you can.
Spanish and Brady are not an effort that I -- wait before we can.
Publicist pitch just in -- to actually does he -- nice job and being on the spot on TV I think there really really nice job thank you very much sounded very well.
-- anything yeah.
-- actually well and Ben thank you for being here Billy and I hope we play some abilities music -- listen to -- minds that we would see people but let's hear it not be out here on the next show I wasn't on the news at.
