Welcome back to happy hour every -- we've talked a lot about Doug Hoffman on this show.
He's the national sensation refusing to back down against the Republicans can't fake candidate.
In a New York congressional race Doug -- gaining the attention of political star Sarah Palin and Tea Party or Dick Armey.
But -- is an independent third party candidate out there even bigger than Doug Hoffman because he's running for an even more important post against an even tougher competitor.
From the Republicans and the Democrats he is Chris -- -- Independent candidate for governor of New Jersey welcome to happy -- -- and I think.
To be here.
All right so personally wanted to start -- -- some poll numbers the latest poll shows Jon Corzine the current governor of New Jersey pulling heading.
Pulling ahead of -- you and your Republican rival there Chris Christine.
I want it to also focus on Jon Corzine has so far spent nearly 24 million dollars in this race to.
Not -- money why I got Christie.
Has spent eight point eight million.
You -- expenditures have only totaled one point two million that's got to.
Hurt -- in this race we'll say.
I'm banking on the fact that in the end the power of ideas is gonna trump the power money -- New Jersey and you look at the poll results and -- just showed up and if you look at there was a focus group that was done and just recently and came out today saying that out of a number of independent or people who are undecided ten of them they gotten a room and spokesman for ninety minutes in the end of it 67 came out for me to you for Jon Corzine won for Chris Christie.
And once stayed undecided so the point is the races very volatile people are not decided yet New Jersey has a history of making a decision at the last weekend.
And some big swings so I think this race is very much up in the air and it's not necessarily going to be money that -- and Chris there are a lot of Republicans that would say you might be considered the spoiler as you know being -- -- -- somewhat of a -- conservative candidate.
Might be taking votes from Chris Christie who right now trails -- -- by 5%.
That -- you hold might -- that vote towards them.
Now I I accent reduction education and I have served.
Leading environmental agencies in this region that the US EPA in the New Jersey department run -- -- protection those are areas that traditionally every democratic strong.
Here strong basis if you will.
And none so I've got some strength there I've got some strength on the financial side on the Republican side and the polls are showing actually -- drawing almost equally from the two parties so.
And the two candidates I don't think this is a spoiler right as -- said if you what I wanna spoil his election night parties of both of these guys.
I haven't the both the same people anyway have been packed with senator that's necessarily believe Democrats and Republicans are the same character spoiling it right are you going to spoil what are the the odds -- do you think you've got to calculated chance to actually walk in there with.
He's at 34% of the vote would be enough to tell me I need about 34% of the vote to win this and tight race because the winner take all election.
I don't think of this as a spoiler situation at all people.
People all over New Jersey are angry they're angry at both parties there you're all over the country at both parties so the question is where they get targeted translate that anger -- -- vote because it's the best opportunity in my lifetime.
For an independent to win and I've got a broad based background I'm not a fringe candidate either in the socialist or the libertarian side.
-- I've had a lot of experience in the public private and nonprofit sectors so I believe that in the end.
That's gonna carry the day so -- -- anger is out there I can tell yeah.
Early is that you see -- any of the polls that say people are still angry at congress congress being both.
Sites right of the political I feel this may be indeed the best time ever.
Out if me if maybe -- more closely aligned with the Republican side how do you get Republican voters than to say to go with you instead of Chris Christie.
I'm taking votes from disaffected Democrats disaffected.
Republicans and and you know I've had people tell me.
You know -- -- -- -- -- both the chemistry can win -- -- I think about the -- be a vote for Christie.
But for you be a vote for Corzine if all the people who told me that.
Voted for me we and I by we I mean all the people who have for years railed against both parties.
We will win this election and we'll win it handily because the the anger is so broad and so deep.
In New Jersey in particular but I think it's across the country and you see it reflected here in your program.
In many conversations so I think it's it's enough to carry the day and that we're gonna do this Chris weren't worth your money coming from.
My money's coming from individuals and friends that I've met over the years and people who are.
Basically the person on the street if you will.
I don't have any special interest money and that's something that is you know both Jon Corzine and Chris Christie relying on heavily special interest money.
They go around the campaign finance laws in New Jersey they both talk about how important -- campaign.
Finance reform is yet both of them has spent time getting money into special interest groups to come back and run these terribly negative.
Campaign ads all over the state so the mine is very much up from the guy on the street basically -- question Phillies or yankees.
I've been all my life the Yankees think -- I grew up in the days and Mickey Mantle and yeah.
-- Friday and not tell -- -- say this the Phillies this year great team but any and I got to come down on the side of the Yankees.
Well what's your website because people want to know -- are you really different -- -- -- handed him.
And I website and -- for governor dot com and on it you'll find.
A lot of specifics about issues because.
I put a plan forward on a whole lot of issues and and that sets me apart from the other guys prison that gets bounced check it out see if he really is different from the republic again.
And Democrats thank you for joining extra deadlock thanks for having me thanks -- to -- -- know -- our viewers should know that we -- on Marco -- the outsider running against Florida Republican and Charlie Crist and the Conservative Party candidate.
From New York Doug Hoffman they've been on happy hour.
We value their views as much is there -- it's which is why folks we have long standing brief questions out there.
Or the established party candidates in those above races Democrats Jon Corzine and billowing and -- Republicans.
Chris Christie and -- it's got a pop up please be our -- scare.
