Candidates who emerged from the elections in two weeks to advance the Tea Party agenda in congress.
My next guest -- Delaware Republican candidate for senate Christine O'Donnell.
She trails democratic lawyer Christopher Collins at the polls for vice president Biden's former C.
But she shocked the political world.
-- primary victory over a long serving Republican congressman and former governor of Delaware Mike Castle.
We invited mr.
-- to come on this show but he declined.
Our invitation Christine O'Donnell is here she's well -- -- Christine thank you for joining us.
Thank you for having -- Christine if you get elected to the senator the United States from Delaware in two weeks.
You're one of people who will become a senator immediately you'll be sworn in the next day.
What's the first thing you'll do when you get to Washington.
Well first of all -- and Nancy Pelosi -- announced that -- -- I have a lame duck session which they're going to be voting on the massive tax increases.
That are gonna hit just about every Delaware and every American.
And I'm gonna want to vote to not only vote against those tax hikes -- -- -- try to stop them.
To convince my future colleagues that this is not what we should be doing in such a serious economic time my opponent is sad that he.
Stopping the tax increases on middle class families -- extending them for the rich.
What they fail to see is that the so called reds are the small business owners such as the dry cleaner down the street -- the pizza shop owner down that street view.
Dollars before they pay for it.
For employees have -- their own family.
So what we're proposing to do is extend massive tax increases on our job creators this is on the -- the other thing that I'm gonna do.
Is that vote against cap and trade -- that is one of the bills that stands to come up.
In this lame duck session.
My opponent's family business stands to make billions of dollars on this climate change legislation that's been passed well -- he's gonna do though.
On the back of Delaware families by their utility bills going up by farmers having the good side of the green standards and by his company's -- -- You know this is a bill that only serves the special -- the environmental lobbyists and corporations that doesn't help the citizens who are suffering.
When you were in have for the Republican nomination against congressman castle.
You emphasize the Tea Party beliefs of small government.
Maximum individual liberty sound money the federal government only does those sixteen things that the constitution.
Says that it can do.
And that's let the Goldwater -- Ronald Reagan base of the Republican Party you won the primary you beat congressman castle fair and square.
Still the Republican establishment in Delaware and even to a certain extent nationally won't support you Christine.
Watch are they afraid out.
I think they're afraid of the fact that we busted up the back -- deals.
They're afraid of that fact that I won't answer to party -- on either side -- -- put that interest them.
Delaware voters and head of the special interest in Washington DC because I think that that's what has to -- to get our country back on track.
Leaders on both sides of the aisle have lots their way to my whole candidacy has been about putting the political process.
Back into the hands of the voters so we have people on on off sides of the aisle Republicans Democrats and independents.
Who are behind my candidacy for that.
And that's what we have to start doing when -- go to Washington DC.
You know and -- we're behind in the polls but I truly believe that in these next couple weeks -- it changed.
-- want to remind people that this time before the primary we've -- we were even further behind.
-- congressman castle and we're gonna do the same thing we are hoping.
That our party would come out and support us and -- -- the way the Democrats have done for.
Tunes and that they've been they would help this -- laps to go after my opponent it whether it that.
This sweetheart deals.
-- and he created for me cronies are the less fun than he used tax.
At a time when he cut the tax exemption for low income seniors and -- come.
A stable citizens here -- castle count me out.
He raised taxes and spend 53000 dollars on -- men's fashion show from out of his last.
And then given the special interest I want to play a clip for you from earlier this week my colleague Bill O'Reilly.
On a show with what you might be familiar called the view when they asked bill about you here's what they asked him and here's what he said take a listen.
Well there was a debate last night with Christine O'Donnell what do you think of her and some of the others who don't have experience and don't seem to have quite I think.
Tonight and to know what you do -- -- miss O'Donnell I don't know our actual moment program.
That you might be a little -- -- Think she might be in a little overhead says so Riley.
What say you as bill would say Christine.
Well first of all let me address the issue of experience I spent twelve years working in Washington shaping legislation on Capitol Hill.
I have more federal experience than my opponent doesn't have enough Washington experience to know how Washington works.
However I have enough real life experience I know how hard it is -- the dollar that I know how Washington should work right so that's an erroneous claim that I don't have experience and and I want to also address that he -- I won't mind yourself.
I want you to know judge that since we have mutual friends in common -- breaking one of our own rules for you because of the influence our mutual friend so I have asked me to -- it.
So so happy that you're -- -- -- and I hope we get to talk time on all else.
I hope we get itself get election he wants to come to Wilmington I don't know that if you Lincecum to Wilmington I hope that I had read passages producers.
He wants and Wilmington meet me on the campaign Allen's Greta and we'll and we'll tell him that I -- any of you thanks very.
