-- of -- one of the biggest stories of today.
It without Steve Jobs the maestro the polls Apple's creative genius together.
How the company fare without its leader Roger -- is president and founder endpoint technologies.
He joins me right now from Newton Massachusetts.
Good morning Roger thanks for being here.
So you listen I mean we've known something's been wrong with this help now for quite some time cut fessed up to the fact that it's becoming a bigger bigger issue.
What do you make of his decision and to put.
The trust and the hope in the range of ten -- Right well Tim Cook is a very able executive and he's the operations guy who came on board.
In 1998 and has helped the company to deliberate product on time and to have its inventory levels proper authorities are really.
Very good operating executive and since apple does have a full pipeline.
He can continue to deliver on that pipeline over the next year or two without much of a change in effect.
So if the market overreacting.
To the health news about Steve Jobs mean the market has been negatively reacting they reacted with the -- -- story.
Other -- what they saw him a year ago it is it over done in terms appear valuation of what this company is doing.
Well I don't think it's over done Alexis because the story is that a little at a time it's coming out that Steve is not gonna run the company forever.
And every time it becomes a little more sure the stock price takes another yet so I don't know where the bottom of this as.
But the fact of the matter is that Steve is more critical to the operation of apple than almost any other CEO is -- his company.
And so it's really important that Steve either be there or have a very clear succession plan.
And just handing it would excellent operational guy isn't necessarily the same thing as handing it off to another impresario like himself.
Okay but put it -- the board of directors because Roger as you know the list of the board of directors is the who's who.
Of not only.
Wall Street and and corporations.
A former vice president of -- you have Al record you with Andrea Jung I mean I.
That the list is so tremendous don't you believe though that since if they do have one of the best fortune in business.
They've been aware of the health issues and -- clearly have enough confidence in Tim -- For him to lead the way.
Well right but Steve's roles extremely special and he has tremendous prestige in the industry he was there at the beginning.
He's a great pitchman a great showman.
Is really good at being I would called sort of like an orchestral conductor where he.
What happens to the company that all creative people the company can perform for him.
So yes you could still have great first violate this thing great horn players but you know where's the conductor -- -- -- -- -- -- to pull it altogether.
And turn it into a fantastic symphony.
And really it's going to be very hard to replace that particular role and by the way that's gonna hurt the more.
A -- you know a year or two from now that it does right now -- they have a pipeline authority.
But I imagined that the pressure will be on in the a year from now to come up with something sexy and new.
So what does that mean sort of for the back half -- vote dying in terms of creating something that's gonna get the street excited again.
Well I actually think that their product pipeline news is deeper than that it probably goes out for a couple years but I it's gonna start to get ready toward the end of that.
And it's not enough just to improve the existing products and hold onto their markets he needs somebody like Steve you could see around the corner to the next big market in envision it before even exist and that's going to be very hard to find.
All right we'll Roger Kay with endpoint technologies great having on the show thank you so much my pleasure.
All right let's -- up to around four.
