My pleasure Neil thanks for having me -- economy at a no win situation on and on on senate today and I just wondered.
How of those -- faces sentencing the feeling that they've been wrongfully accused and jobs.
-- -- especially if they feel they have been wrongfully accused and judged on the that was a position you're in on Monday.
That and prosecutors immediately seized on your demeanor as being arrogant.
When the judge -- a three year sentence down -- -- Well first of all my demeanor was.
To be honest way -- I felt that the sense of strength and peace and joy about this whole process.
Watching on him probable at the feet of -- prosecutor.
-- politically motivated prosecutor.
I mean what he said at the beginning you show it says at all.
Just because he thinks I'm arrogant I get I have to go to prison.
-- your mind but what's going on here -- is is.
So frightening and it's more than just Tom DeLay it's it this is so the commercialization -- politics.
This can happen to anyone that's in elected office.
Some -- be a figure out that he doesn't like you anymore and and and wants to destroy you.
No longer good enough just -- -- reputation they wanna put you in jail.
Ruin your family bank criteria which in a grave and dance on it.
Aren't but now that's not to say that these jurors were politically biased and partisan -- -- felt Republican and how conservative -- now.
On that you.
You abuse the system and and and tried -- -- favors to gain.
Republican inroads in your state you -- obviously playing well -- but but but I don't get to the details but.
Are you claiming to jurors.
Had an inherent bias.
The jury came from Travis County Texas which.
For a conservative Republican.
How like me that his back passionate about what he does that's like putting me in San Francisco -- and trying me.
You just can't pull people that that.
Are your peers so to speak I'm not I'm not complaining about the jury it's the law the laws on my side the jury saw it differently.
Because the prosecution put on a case.
That basically played to what people think a politicians today.
Today's 33 witnesses and never put presented one shred of evidence that a there was any wrongdoing.
It it is act I was just I was astounded.
All they put on was -- politicians flying around on private plane -- in the millions and millions of dollars.
Polling at putting things on people manipulating people.
That frankly -- true but an image of a corrupt politician that ought to be imprisoned.
This is money laundering.
I'm good name and.
Crews and there was no money -- and it is no money you that you would always planned in your your Morrison.
You did not pop -- off of this nevertheless much was made.
-- trips you made with big backers and money types that gave the appearance.
That you work yet and that that you were as a result.
Using that as leverage in your position as a powerful Washington player has leverage to help the Republican Party.
And you but defaulted -- you plan that was not the case.
That it certainly wasn't the case what happened here deal was I created a political action committee because I've felt there was an opportunity.
For the first time in a 150 years here for Republicans to take the Texas house.
And electing a Republican.
I set up a political action committee spun it off.
Put some people in charge.
-- -- and they -- did a very good job all that that they were focused on -- electing Republicans that's what -- that's what I've been convicted basically.
And and what they did was they -- legally raised money corporate funds.
Can be used for administrative purposes and they raised more than they needed.
So they did something that Democrats and Republicans do have done all the time they -- money they sent the corporate money to the Republican National Committee.
The Republican National Committee took the corporate money and sent it to states where it could be used legally and then they -- Republican National Committee took individual money.
That it was raised legally and send it to Texas.
It is so that and I -- would have -- it gets hard.
For some thing.
And it was a practice recognize.
But both parties over these many many years have absolutely okay so this summer when when you got this three year prison sentence -- By the same judge who effectively gave probation.
Two Democrats -- represented -- florist.
And in that case someone was found guilty of accepting kickbacks.
If you will you're -- appeal be double standard.
Florence got probation yeah.
IPOs going to be on the law the laws on my side.
You know to in order to have money laundering.
-- you you have to have proceeds from criminal activity.
There were no proceeds from -- criminal activity in the prosecution could improve there -- any.
Corporate funds were legally raise social the proceeds that were supposed to be in my in my laundered.
And they won't.
That -- set.
Don't some early if you don't have any proceeds are criminal activity that you can't possibly have money laundering.
And the other part of this too that we will be appeal is that it for the first time in the United States.
That Jim Justice Department.
-- our justice system is using criminal code.
To enforce the election code.
And music site criminal code that was designed.
Them to go after drug lords.
To -- -- impose itself on our political system this is very dangerous stuff that we're dealing.
