Classic family owned business trying to make your way.
In America today tell me what you would say to Washington.
If you had to say anything that you need as a small medium -- business.
I'd like to say that.
We need a direction we need some security we need to know that the country is moving in the right direction.
Of which we've not seen the last seven or eight years.
Like concrete and concrete terms what does that mean.
It means that we -- Direction that we could plan.
And we could -- -- -- of the people that we might need to hire.
Without -- worry.
About whether or not.
The economy was gonna -- -- -- Cisco fed recently said that if there was more leadership in Washington.
Businesses could plan and such a way.
That they wouldn't have to just hire part timers they would have some confidence to people want full time I see you've been hiring here but not the what you would have had better.
No we what I mean if we had an idea of being able to plan for.
The budgeting and all the other things that go along with the business right now a perfect example was the tax increase that we got.
We couldn't budget that last year budgeting process occurred.
And then we get hit with a tax increase well how do you plan for the tax increase when you don't know about it.
And your budgeting for the next year with employee hiring ex that are so we end up -- a bunch of part time employees.
Hoping that eventually we -- Pick them over to fulltime because it takes time to train them.
We put a lot even with a part time employees we put a lot of training and if -- known about that in advance you could have made plans and -- it.
The problem is you can't budget what you don't know and it right now everything's constantly -- we don't have a clear direction without a clear direction how do you plan.
But in this business a long time.
You know what it's like when you had clear direction from congress actually had a national budget.
How is that different than it is well it was.
It was easier to make plans laid playing for production plant -- -- Personnel we've we've.
You know Hayward dated -- mean we don't know what bring -- Give our our viewers a sense of what you do here.
A -- you make how would you sum it up you can make the baskets that everybody from some way to Dunkin' Donuts officer.
Yes we do.
We have a one of the visions of our company.
Is our -- it's our division are quick serve restaurant division we manufacture products that looking -- right -- that they'd roll over.
That stuff -- that's Teflon coated fiberglass fabric.
Being multi -- We've sometimes they have to put multiple passes.
On -- to get -- right voting ways to make a finished product.
This goes in did you say the quick serve restaurant industry.
There's a lot of innovation and they -- you got a lot to keep up.
-- we do we do we a lot of motivation in that industry.
Our industrial segment of our business.
Everything from fabrics that go in and are used in the manufacture 787.
In composite work.
People who are.
Prepping the iron four.
-- Got a about a hundred employees.
You know you talk about your dad he's been in business for now 35 years in this business for 35 years you've had this business for 25 years you're young man.
-- comparative relatively.
What is your sense of the future.
You have that we -- get to a place where.
You have some more confidence about what's.
Well if you don't.
-- -- in despair so yours have -- I mean is that the future and our world we look around we look at our employees were bring in a lot to be -- younger employees in nowadays.
And that's a future the company we want to obviously give them a future and give them something to look forward to.
But you know it all depends on us having view ability or some visibility.
Of the future I mean it's -- Every day is different for us.
And I asked bill what he would say.
If he had the the microphone to Washington what would you -- Or I had if we need we need have to -- -- -- -- In our taxes.
We need to be able to.
What the future -- here on terms -- absolutely we need we need to know what what we're going to be you know.
What's coming our way you can afford to expand if you don't know what dollars you have to -- and we need to expand.
So and and I just one way leave this this with with that you feel this last question and that is.
Is some direction better than not the perfect direction where you absolutely.
You know we did that we need to have a sense of direction.
It's much better than the other which is -- But yes a little direction would be appreciate it.
