Thank you both for being here -- -- -- let's turn to first the the idea that this this verdict on the part at least in the judgment of the Obama administration.
What evidence is there.
-- -- Well I think that what we have seen the attorney general comment on.
Is separate from the evidence that was presented in the case and where many African Americans and many Americans in general are saying.
If the pursuit had never started we wouldn't have gotten here to begin with but I think your comments earlier in the show are so critical right now.
We have had many tweets as you seen say that it's now open season on young black males.
But what their -- failing to mention is that it has been hunting season on young black males since a wave of Ford joins cinnamon ever.
Fired a shot -- -- on Martin.
And if there's any way I think the president said this on a chip on Martin.
Then we have to take a close look.
At black on black violence in my lifetime I'm 41 years old 262621.
Black people have been murdered.
By other blacks.
This is something that we have to -- progressives have to.
I understand that there is a decline in the black -- We have to say that comprehensive sex education isn't just the only solution for this and if it comes out of this case.
Then that is a good way to honor -- -- on -- One you said.
The media's clearly guilty of playing on the most primitive.
Racial divisions and our society driving racial animosity to boost ratings.
In what proportion do you think that is true is it.
90% of the media -- give us a sense of proportion.
Well I think if you just let's let's look at the facts not give you you the opportunity to draw that percentage is template I mean I remember that this case occurred.
And as regrettable as the whole circumstance maybe it was Al Sharpton and some black radio talk show hosts who then.
Literally took to the streets not only were they whipping up anxiety and angst anger over the failure for there to be an arrest.
But they then made it into a civil rights issue -- said it was along the lines of historical.
Crimes against black man by whites that Scotts -- boys Emmett Till and the like.
And even over the weekend we heard mention of Medgar Evers I just think wow this is to me this is -- I happen to.
Have studied civil rights history and I can tell you this is not that.
But the second part of it was from conservative media that I think to opt -- then.
-- then and say well you know this is a gun rights issue or you know some people Leo -- -- raising money I just think it you know.
This is a tragedy and of course don't we get the New York Times that said.
-- remain as a white Hispanic -- something I'd never heard because I think they wanted to enforce this narrative.
The only impose it on the story that this is just like something that happened way back in civil rights history and and the German couldn't be Hispanic.
He had to be white guys that Hispanic people Asian people couldn't have any races -- in their bodies.
So I think the media has a lot.
This took a large responsibility here and the pick up on something.
You know it doesn't fit their racial narrative to talk about black kids killing black kids every weekend in big cities in this country.
Is them is the national media so.
Immersed in their ideological.
There by various political.
That they can't deal with honest a valuation of a critical issue.
Because black on black violence.
Murders across this country.
Why in the world can't we get an honest discussion of the attorney general said that we are -- nation essentially of cowards.
This administration has been a coward when it comes to black on black violence.
I'll have a conversation any day with the attorney general sitting right here Paul said in his office.
This is an administration is running from the issue of race and frankly some of the most ardent and activists including reverend Al sharp.
They don't want to talk about race they wanna make a living on race and you know.
Well I think reverend Sharpton and other leaders within the black community have given this administration.
A pass on talking about he's -- he's critical issues facing urban communities and if tower -- is the word to be used and I agree with you Lou.
That we have not seen leadership on this until recently especially when it comes to gun violence and gun violence that is.
-- the murders in the city.
But we also conditioned by the media to only care and only get up in arms when a black person is killed by someone from another race or ethnic.
Group and that is on.
Except you know -- had to add another ethnic group because you're Zimmerman again doesn't that the narrative.
He is Hispanic.
You know it just it just it saddens -- That there is an an understanding among.
Black leaders and I including those reverend Sharpton.
Reverend -- Who can say you know let's be honest about this if we can deal with these issues honestly pragmatic -- and -- the world in the -- through the same it's.
What we have to do what is actually happening.
We could move beyond race in nearly every instance.
But as long as we have it is special interest vested interest trying to divide for political purposes for financial purposes.
-- I I think that we are consigned to to repeat this cycle.
I would like to think otherwise.
Well I don't I don't know what why you would want to think otherwise I mean how -- deal with the facts here I just think it's an outrage.
Black on black crime out of the roof you know I wrote a piece and I said you know their children's defense fund which is no conservative organization I'm -- -- -- Said you know -- been more black on black murders.
Than there were lynchings in American history of the planet the yeah.
And let's just say what's.
Around 3500 in a hundred year period 3500.
In the period of my life over 260000.
We do have an opportunity Lynch's case to turn that around.
-- address the fact that we all have unconscious bias and how does that affect our race relations in this country.
Let's use this case to actually tackle race relations and not continue to try to gin up racial tension as some.
-- -- -- big concern for me because I think that given the media wolf they've been getting more attention you know.
-- if it is it is a difficult time.
When you have that chief law enforcement officer attacking the integrity of the judicial system.
Attacking the integrity of a verdict.
-- and you know and I know that as we talk about black on black violence and and I cringe a little as we do it I'll be honest.
Because he had you know there are those who would use that is an excuse to rationalize broader violence.
That is why violence that is whatever their race or ethnicity and I think report.
But we get we've all got to forswear.
That kind of division intellectual division.
And I think much of much of the solution can be at hand.
And I think you both for helping -- in that direction.
As all of us are proud of the segment of thank you thank you very much --
