-- -- US is wrapping up talks with China in Washington today the issue of cyber theft remains a point of contention.
Between the two world powers.
It's -- enabling theft of US companies are experiencing.
Now must be viewed as out of bounds and needs to stop.
Is at stake for us let our differences coming away progress.
For the United States this means an economic relationship for our firms and workers operate -- a level playing field and where the rights of those who participate in the global economy.
Including innovators in the holders of intellectual property.
Are preserved and protected from government sponsored cyber intrusion.
-- Campbell those are -- the latest -- what's been a lengthy back and forth with top Chinese officials over Beijing's massive cyber espionage campaign joining me now from Washington.
Security attorney Brian that's different and estimates are showing 200 to 300 billion dollars a year is being lost because -- intellectual property -- Is America turning its its eyes away from Massa mean nothing seems to be coming -- of these talks in Washington.
-- America's not turning its eyes away from -- obviously we're focusing on if it's one of the top level issues that we're raising with China at the problem is that.
For right now China continues to refute to recognize the problem.
Oftentimes when confronted the Chinese leadership both in the military -- of the civilian government they deny all these accusations and say in fact we're the victims of hacking.
Not -- American government so don't point fingers at us.
You what did you know poppies -- in this is this comes after a month when -- President Obama and the Chinese president met -- there at the resort in California it was all of the record it was all friendly.
We have had these problems with China before whether it's human rights violations whether its currency manipulation nothing ever changes because they are crucial trading partner.
To the United States and even though businesses are under the threat financial threat of cyber security.
It seems to me that that Vice President Biden.
Kinda had a half hearted approach this whole meeting.
Well it's it's it's -- it's a difficult balance because you're right there is served this theory of mutually assured destruction that's going on with respect -- China United States government in China is doing a lot of the cyber threats and obviously it's a problem for the United States.
But at the same time we're so dependent on the economy and -- vice -- the Chinese of their exports the United States that it's almost like we're sweeping the problem a little bit under the rug but.
I do believe that the Obama administration and many in congress are extremely concerned about this.
And are looking to take more positive and possibly punitive actions against the Chinese Government.
You know bright I had the CEO of -- London on yesterday they did this global -- survey in.
A -- -- the number two issue now that the executives are worried about is cyber security number three excuse me.
And he said that that executives are worried enough about cyber security do you agree with that.
I think that's right I think we are seeing more and more people who are concerned about it I have a number of clients who are concerned about it.
There are other surveys that show monks general counsels as their number one risk prior or priority at this point.
But you're right a lot of chief executives particularly -- the medium and smaller sized businesses.
Don't really understand the problem they don't think can even fathom that the Chinese Government or the Iranians or whoever you -- to name.
Would come after them for their intellectual property so there has to be a better education campaign.
And a better understanding of what they're actually losing when they don't take proper cyber security measures.
All the complicated relationship we have of the Chinese and this has made it so much worse this year but -- -- Bryant benched.
