-- -- congresswoman good to see you again let me ask you -- -- let me ask you first of all I want to get to obamacare because that's really what we ask you to come on for right.
Because of the court's ruling regarding -- and prop eight.
I saw your reaction was that the court to rule book god hasn't ruled.
What I mean by that is that the creator of marriage was god he authored the definition of marriage between a man and a woman and we as a society.
Can make our decisions that ultimately he'll be the one who ultimately prevails.
Because first society to go on you need to have children and to in order to have children.
Biology teaches us that you have to have both a mother and a father.
All right but let me get I want to go right to your expertise would show again.
I always think -- US that tax lawyer and that you're going to be that actually enter again so.
I look at this whole.
Fight about about the quality and married this is really about the tax code in the fact that the tax code is crazy because of the fact.
That the government says depending upon how you live your life we're going to -- you differently.
Will tax married people one way -- tax single people another way.
Heads of households another way people with children under a separate from -- people without children.
-- -- the tax code up it is is the I think the foundation of this problem.
You've made a wonderful case for abolishing the tax code and I could not agree with you more of the tax code is celebrated its 100 birthday.
This year and I think what it's done now is prove itself a convoluted failure.
And in my opinion I truly believe that we should abolish the current tax code.
And I hire us along with that and I'd prefer to see a national debate and whether we decide to adopt a flat tax.
Which would be where everyone in the United States pays the same percentage of tax based upon their -- -- or.
On a national sales tax which some people call a fair tax.
I think that again either system hit it has validity either system.
Has merit but I think it's time that we have that debate the -- -- else -- prove themselves.
Hopelessly incompetent and so now all the time to have the debate and I agree with you.
I think we should abolish the tax code.
Well -- in it yet with all the IRS best now now would be a perfect time for that her for that I -- that conversation but congresswoman this.
Come on the idea you know the power of the purse is held by U members of congress and I don't see your colleagues giving up that power anytime soon.
Well you're right it it doesn't look like this is something that is necessarily on the horizon but the people want it and that's the wonderful thing about the United States.
We -- a constitutional.
And the people are tired of the current tax code and I think they'd be very interested in seeing every tax go away and I mean every tax and and sunset and instead have sums to sort out let's say national sales tax or flat tax either one.
And I think people like the simplicity.
And I think they'd like to pay less taxes than they -- now.
Yet -- -- seemed like you didn't get to this question solved the adversarial relationship between pro gay marriage anti gay marriage I think would would dissolve.
Because we would all be treated.
Equally under the tax law and I think that that's been a big part of their complaint and legitimately so saying wait a minute I'm treated like a different citizen.
Under a thousand different federal statute so let's let's just clean this up.
And isn't that our form of government -- -- equal protection under the law I would love to see equality before the tax code.
Which would be a national sales tax or a flat tax one of the two.
During that presidential campaign you were you made a very good point and you stood out from all the other contenders on the Republican platform.
The news said listen all of you were talking about getting rid of -- -- but I'm the only one who knows how to do it well.
We didn't you didn't win the election the Republicans and win the election.
So we're -- -- stuck for now but.
What if what can be done.
-- the latest surveys are out showing that 39%.
Of the people absolutely want the whole thing repealed and you put the others in that say I'd like parts of it repealed.
-- up to like sit almost 60% of the public is being unpopular from day one.
How was -- ever going to get resolved or is it just going to have to become such.
A mess that people finally does scream at Washington to fix it.
Well I go back to my prior comment Tom which is we are constitutional.
Republic and if you're a leader.
Yet to -- have people following you and you -- mentioned the public opinion poll.
Obamacare is more and popular today than it has ever been before and in order for a bomb -- act care to work.
You have to have over 300 million people for eventually going to be involved in this system.
While nobody wants to come to this dance they're coming direct being dragged right now in to this dance and that's why you see Kathleen Sebelius.
The head of health and human services.
Literally shaking down for hundreds of millions of dollars in donations money from the -- very companies that she's tasked to regulate.
She's shaking them down why Tom because she wants their money.
So that the Obama -- is administration can run commercial advertising.
Does suck people end up by what they're being forced to by -- people won't suit is still young people if they were still buying.
Why do you have to sell me that's right -- that's exactly right you shouldn't have to do it anyway especially have to sell young people.
Because this Ponzi scheme is set up in such a way that it doesn't work.
-- young people specially eighteen to 34.
-- -- -- going to be required to buy health insurance but they won't want to because it's going to be fantastically.
Than any health insurance if ever purchased in the past.
So what do you predict little fall under its own weight after we get it up and running in six months after January 1 a year after what.
Well we know that there's problems and that's coming from the Obama administration I think we're at I'm a solution -- person rather than a problem focus person.
And I really believe if a parallel system is set up where you have price private companies and if you have private insurance cooperatives that set up.
I think young people will buy the cheapest alternative and I think if they can buy a policy for let's say thirty or sixty dollars a month.
They'll buy that rather than a policy that will -- that maybe 200 or 300 dollars a month so I think there's a tremendous business opportunity.
And I encourage people that did -- could -- create positive alternatives right now because young people are Smart and I think they'll go at the positive alternative.
All right always good to talk to -- and will follow this together with you.
Michelle -- number.
