Some -- with -- that sounds likely too much when you put on the I had to consult an hour and again our own really -- -- -- passion projects so yeah pretty adamant about.
Not to be busy you know I love my job of being -- host.
I think one thing feeds another and I think if -- intelligent about the steps to -- -- maximize opportunity it's.
You know and then there's still the projects along -- -- like the one that you just mentioned and I'm doing today and in town with carrying a catch out sort of those those charitable components kind of bring it all together for me right right.
They show every Wednesday we talk about small business and -- how to get businesses off the ground up and running what advice would you give and I know.
They're viewers they're probably intently listening -- you and it -- that's what advice did you get to.
You know -- ideas can become huge success stories you know I started out with a belly rapper started out with a product called -- for post pregnancy.
I started my business with my mother in an apartment in Santa Monica and then -- -- into -- folding it into a big company like modern mom.
And I think you have to cycles and I think little idea -- my focus and you believe -- and you make.
-- planned start with a plan figure out how to make the right plan later on.
But I think anything's possible.
And how to use social media to your advantage essentially media is helping -- you have to expand else hurts companies especially when there's bad PR involved there.
Customers are getting a little bit too chatty it's a really good handle -- and it's really hard to control.
But I think that we have access now 24/7 to the masses because of social media.
We have ability to drive traffic is carrying a catch up campaign fifty years -- -- shoppers it's FaceBook it's really about.
Doing press broadening awareness asking people to vote they're doing -- and wonderful where they're giving the dollar for every vote.
You go to the web -- things like that become very very powerful and for a good cause but I to me when I write a blog I tried tension there.
It's also nice today because we can correct that practice and we can have a full circle conversation where it's no longer just a one way street.
So social media becomes sort of your own platform your own reality show it.
On an ongoing discussion exactly yeah it's ever -- says it's tricky thing as bad press there could be very time being but you know and modern mom on taking a look at it earlier this is a way to you know.
Moms in general Wear many hats because most of them are working lots of them are struggling in this kind of gives them the feel of the woman behind them well.
It's true and I've accomplished more as a mother -- I did before I was a mother but that was sort of the soul in my original concept was the woman behind the scenes and a number of you where before you became a mother -- to become a mother.
You can skew conservative businessmen when you could still accomplish chuckles it's in the schools it's really about prioritizing but.
But modern mom I didn't have access to.

You know I'll get up six analysts are waking -- kids all make lunches are usually make -- shake up on the go like -- -- carp flies up kids -- -- go to work.
Like if I squeeze in the work out.
-- involved in social media storm connecting tapping and I'm content is -- modern mom.
By my phone that night and on my laptop and also wife about how you can't and it's insane so I'm juggling all right sounds much more manic than it is.
Comment on an off day it's -- the kids at home and time by the pool aren't animals -- Laynce Nix animals -- -- -- -- cats that actually were rescued cats half.
I took them in about four years ago and to to feel good moment to to create opportunities such great family patents -- Now that that's -- disappearing catch there you teamed up with them to support fifty -- shelters across -- -- -- -- anniversary so in a celebration of an anniversary they are recognizing fifty shelters across the country one in every state -- asking people to vote for those shelters are matching -- with one dollar they've already given over 200 grants can go up to 225000.
To fix up the shelters to help that adopting experience be a little bit better tomorrow we're going to Atlanta we're gonna get -- hands dirty you're gonna paint we're gonna fix up the space.
So that when people come in to do that selection in the spent time with the -- -- improve their living environment.
And they're giving supplies food money.
It's a really ninths campaign can we talk about dancing faster -- -- Obviously it's a fun job it's my show you you've won the -- Spartan always seems to win right here it is an unbelievable choreographer he's so talented somehow he continues to reinvent himself and this season.
Blew me away the freestyle that he designed -- Kelly pick there's the choices that he made.
I cried and dress rehearsals -- haven't -- it's an emotional show when you get invest in the contestants but.
He's just so brilliant and I think a lot of celebrities come on with no talent and surprise us that's what works week.
Fall in love with people who we thought we now by their character and media and we didn't know anything about them really personally.
It's just a fun show and I'm looking for its next season and a new cast new energy and I do we know anything you know anything and I don't think they you know yeah right and make the announcement initially and -- -- it's.
It's stressful on many ways to be a celebrity you're kind and a -- your a lot more susceptible.
To criticism -- -- -- -- -- different standard -- just managed.
It's a great question and unfortunately I -- -- really good -- -- really foundation home and my family is sort of my Iraq and my ground and I love what I do but.
It is true everybody's waiting for it and that's up everybody's waiting for -- to have that -- of malfunction but he wants to know everything you're doing from -- higher working -- when you're reading what's happening in my.
-- -- really note then because I've sort of believe or not woman to -- family the family that power of learning from each other.
And lucky enough to kind of fly below the radar of mean gossip I think can -- you know even with my health scare us and everything I'm just I'm.
I'm open and and done.
You know I I I love what I do so like I take it.
I'm kind of used to the grocery store paparazzi -- really exciting I'm putting my back I think I you know but it's it's in Egypt saying yes ignore it.
And -- and move -- and that they it's in some fashion yeah do you -- but not in -- -- and -- you try.
On and you can't survive it makes what you do even more.
Accidental -- I am I'm really lucky and I feel great and I was so vocal about that to really share my story and you know with the intention of being able to help other women and even create a comfort zone and and I think philanthropy and charity work is really important -- try to teach my children have to lead by example.
You know pigs like I'm I'm I'm doing here in New York Katrina they make me feel good -- on the cat owner on the cat lover it's a nice opportunity of the -- -- -- When I have free time and when I'm passionate about something -- raise awareness so it's it's Afro laughs but it's important and it makes me makes me feel that.
Thank you fingers out and buy for your perspective on all of those things.
But are they have a great day good luck you we think it would what you're doing we're gonna put the website for appearing cat -- on -- screen.
And Danks he did so well be back in a couple of think that the everybody healthy thought that was fun let's continue the fun by talking golf I have Charles really at New York golf center the owner several locations in New York City and in New Jersey thank you for coming not think and -- small business owner so we're gonna talk about the golf industry here Ross opponent talk about -- health carries so much more.
Expensive for small businesses and how that affects you so so for so long -- -- order it good morning.
You played off I do yes they had -- I'm OK okay.
I -- bad to be god and good for -- regular prisoner but that it here you know.
Yeah over the tough part about being in the gulf today when the hard part about being in the gulf businesses it's busy when it's time play golf -- went out.
Bring them right Elmer yes as a business filming right now aren't learning -- We're we're definitely busier now this is this is their seasons that the seasonal business that's gonna do it how much -- how much of your business -- -- get us -- Well between April and probably September -- -- -- -- At least you can enjoy your winters off -- Dedicated and insulate you know projects have been -- wounds that right that's right -- As we said -- to talking about.
Health care and how infection I wanna.
I want to -- -- a full screen small businesses pay up to 18%.
More per worker than larger firms in the same health insurance policy.
And there's things that affect you -- broker fees fixed administrative costs.
Then -- to affect a your decision to offer health care be the kind of health care that you offer and then.
Obviously when it comes to hiring people that.
Company same unqualified worker and you know meet those qualified workers are gonna find health care for a little bit company right.
That simply part of it -- Hampshire.
-- definitely an issue.
Every year we get our renewal and every year it's in the double digits.
So the plan that we.
Every year you pain in the delegated more per year if we want the same plan correct -- -- -- I can easily wanted to percent increase that's vice you know our businesses and grow at that -- so our plan.
Has evolved or devolve into something that's less than once every year to maintain.
A reasonable increase.
With the strip a couple of things -- my -- well you know higher.
Everything just gets a little bit less -- plan you know.
-- your your employees aren't getting as good of coverage because you have to just try to provide it to them and also keep your business plan.
Facility today and -- Make it a point within.
I mean they sometimes you give grumbling that they're getting.
You know decrease in pay because you know there -- benefits.
But at same time our business doesn't grow -- 141516%.
A year -- costs are -- and that's just wanted to hear senate foreign clients are really at one that is so mean but we do provide full you know an average for employees so.
You know it's it's but it that we think it's important when it's hard to keep open it.
Originally to see administration do what are your thoughts on this fall in the invitation.
-- Obama the new health care Affordable Care Act next year.
Well from what I understand that it's not gonna affect me is -- let me say from what I understand there is no I understand it yeah.
Anyway -- I had a lengthy conversations with our are broker.
And apparently it's not gonna affect us much because we provide health care for employees.
And we and we fully covered -- the -- is well.
You know that the family comes on board they contribute a little bit and you know and they haven't hidden contribute meaningfully -- We're giving up about 4748.
See you coming under that you can pay a fine if you line instead of offering health care -- I suppose that you.
But it means something to -- and he wanted it if you look at some of the firms providing health insurance if we -- all of this graphic.
It's not friends with under ten workers.
Less than half.
Provide health insurance.
-- the big firms with more than 200 workers nearly all of them are providing so that just goes to show any small businesses like yourself to counter the backbone of this country.
The job providers.
They're struggling right now there is a definite lack of confidence and higher costs like -- said double digit increases just four.
Your help cup rates and your business -- in growing that fast in its history it seems like it's a vicious cycle.
-- Let's talk about the golf industry.
Look at sweep this is your Christmas right this is the Christmas season trio that is and through how about the industry changed or maybe when I'm -- is celebrity aside it's a hook over the past couple of years.
You know it would put up -- map really.
I guess to the masses yet for here you know golf was growing it was getting big before tiger came along but he certainly accelerated for sure.
Now if it seems like mountain.
Or for me and not a a huge golf person that golf is more in the news these days and I attribute that is scandals.
I guess part of that -- -- you know of the scandals are definitely there but I.
With tiger coming and I think the sport his gun to be a mainstream sport that even a non golfers might want especially the majors.
It's the game hasn't been really growing last you know they -- 910 years but it's me.
It happened and really -- that they had not yet in hasn't -- I don't really mind.
I think you know it's.
Takes a lot of time that he had does -- NASA's -- on on the golf course -- for them for most places and you know.
And do business on the golf course you did annoy the other people.
It yet that that's a good six or seven hours it the day so.
There have been talks of -- initiatives to get it.
So you could get in -- out quicker.
You know reintroduce the nine hole you know he again.
Just make it so that you can get there may play a couple hours and then get.
And make it more sensible -- and -- tell -- a little bit more about you work.
I mean we're we're small you know local.
In New York City.
We we we feel like.
That's a little bit different is pro shop environment with custom -- capabilities and the -- -- golf course you know larger option.

Pretty constant year round we'll -- April through September spring and summer if that's your others you're strong months in what do you do in the off months and -- and down season.
Well really this November's are really slow month and then get busy again for December of course -- -- That's -- thank -- -- not as busy as the golf season because people weren't spending right usually that amount of money on presidents like they are themselves in the season.
And then January February usually pretty slow and then it starts to get busy -- marching three -- -- January February and November really.
Thank you so much struck Israel in the -- near golf center we're gonna head to break we'll be back right after this with.

Welcome back everybody well for those of you who know -- much.
Can hope that.
We have a new web -- to make that process a little bit easier and CEO of -- and styles -- -- -- Joining us now on -- And you say your site is different from the others because it kind of eliminates that decision fifteen week in fact I mean if you're anything like me and my computer like this want this one -- -- -- images and I aren't -- -- -- -- -- anything.
So lowly job come home and and when did you start -- -- work we launched an eight.
-- essentially run a mission to simplify and revolutionize how consumers shop by data driven.
Top ten list that may be best fashion and beauty products -- any single category.
The thing that's on screen fast white -- that's when I get consumer reports for everything that.
Exactly someone like myself but I don't know what -- the -- power plants are cultivated and yes it's a completely objective completely unbiased they don't reflect our personal opinions affect instead we built an -- and that essentially create the science around -- and methodically searches.
Aggregates indexes all of the information it tends to be most relevant and driving consumer decision making in particular.
For female consumers that we take into account things like.
User reviews editors picks -- product -- an aggregate all of that together from all the sources are users' trust as well.
And it exactly as you said we are the kinds of sports for women how did you come up with that -- -- them.
Yeah it's what we've done is basically try to understand what are the variables that tend to drive an influence -- -- decision making and what they are.
Price price what other people are buying what their peers are behind with their peers are -- -- and user reviews a product's popularity.
And also with the editors are saying it's still very highly influential magazines are talking about -- the pressure talking.
We take all of those sources within an -- -- fashion magazines are just stop acting.
The most popular department stores the most popular online retailers and then the most influential bloggers and take all of their voices.
All the opinions and their content to identify at any given moment in time what -- -- -- that's based on popularity.
Quality mountain style and you know.
I consider myself -- knowledgeable consumer wants and I might devote a little bit more time than the average -- taking hits is there anything that I find it difficult to keep track of all of the different options out there.
And one of the reasons there's so many options it's because.
Online environment has created this entrepreneurship.
-- right now -- -- so many people.
Using the Internet to create new companies anybody can do it and there are so many products out there it's more to -- through.
Exactly exactly and -- -- the light bulb moment as you asked before.
Was really thinking about the role the Internet as an -- as consumers and other products and I -- on the market for a new digital camera.
Our car we -- and -- I do that within literally a matter five minutes never concise lay it lay of the land if you were to type and that's digital camera.
Now -- -- -- -- -- and you'll have to make a personal decision say.
While I was prefer Sony -- I Panasonic -- or this is my -- you -- -- that's what's next for best -- the results to get back are far more chaotic and we just thought that delta.
Was far -- -- between the experience of female consumers and consumers of technology and our automobiles and we're on a mission to narrow that gap.
And in particular are so motivated you this because women behind bar make up the largest shoppers in general.
But the most time online and any big decisions in the household we actually -- -- control a majority of consumers and then in this country.
Yeah my producer Kevin Tracy saying my -- without.
Consent and a and a -- telling.
Us they think and un.
So have you seen a spike in sales aren't any of the companies that you're mentioning their products seen consumers go there and -- that new Canon cat.
My Princeton because some may wonder top ten gasoline we have been approached by many brands are really excited to make arguments and -- what makes this novel.
In the fashion and beauty contest spaces that we can't actually partner directly with those -- or.
Brands are excited to see them files on the list -- we we -- rejected where exactly were completely intact.
Which means that we -- -- and -- think -- -- crew space say Iran we have hot start battlers online shoppers of the latest sales nasty gal.
Offers public wants lists scratch card that's an app that alerts users when the -- With where the deals are to create a road map of the deal they never heard of that one and then I never had this many of their.
Fitting kit which is an online -- -- -- virtual fitting room while yet.
That's crazy -- so you're -- yourself to this crowded space but yet doing something different and it looks like the results are working yeah we -- a chat isn't anyone listening is chatting and and this person wants snowy -- about the new Internet sales tax on -- will have effect on your business model well I you're not signed -- we don't we're actually not an -- e-commerce we tell you where you can buy things.
And I provide violence within but ultimately our focus is all about.
What to buy it and why we're not because you can paint and we drive traffic to retailers -- -- an -- extra talk to him this week.
Include violent from where you can buy them but within those filings that.
The traffic that we driver entirely neutral we actually don't partner with the -- correctly we have a -- affiliate.
Network that we work with and between them and we do receive small commission for the traffic that we -- to those web site.
