Eight capital IQ.
And -- -- were calling Dennis vs Dennis joining me now Dennis Neil the Ohio Democrat congressman Dennis -- -- Who's now fox contributor thanks for being with a special -- start let's listen to what you said yesterday on the show FOX News Sunday.
President Obama hasn't done anything about the unemployment problem.
We have massive amounts of people who were out of work.
And the oxygen it's being sucked out by some of these scandals.
May limit the White House but he still has to be held accountable for not creating the jobs.
Now -- Dennis I could've sworn it was other things that were hurting job growth such as.
Tax increases on two thirds of all the profits that go to small businesses and and an anti -- this demon demonizing wealth creation but now.
You -- the scandals could distract the White House from creating jobs.
What well I'm not for tax increase its first of all.
But what I was pointing out yesterday is that you have seven point nine million Americans who are involuntarily working part time they're looking for full time -- they can't get it.
You have more than eight million Americans are unemployed -- numbers probably greater because people stopped looking for work.
And beyond that you have middle class -- to be working but wages are stagnant -- -- maxed out I'm borrowing.
And you know consumer spending equals income.
Plus increase of -- so -- economy actually stagnant when it comes at a middle class.
You can't reflect the health of the middle class by saying while the markets moving because there's really no connection.
Between a booming market and America's middle class economic.
Now the chief of staff of the White House reportedly.
Has told staffers in the last week Alex been any -- 10% of your time.
On these scandals is that a realistic assessment will -- be able to do that or will this distract from policy making -- overhauls we need to do.
But -- may have to spend 20% of their time on and scandals I I think that we we have to ask.
That if the private sector isn't providing enough jobs and obviously they're not because you have so many people are either working part -- or or can't get full time work.
Then the public sector as a moral responsibility do it.
And and President Obama is really shied away from any agree and intervention in the economy in that regard.
I don't think Wall Street as an -- to collect complain about with respect to the president but -- -- -- funny to complain about.
But it's our.
We spent over 800 billion dollars on a government -- -- and look at where unemployment is the public sector it's not their job to take up the slack for the private sector how about reading.
The private sector traits -- doubt about overhauling the tax code -- about.
Slashing the tax rate of 35% on overseas cash -- the companies bring home 800 billion dollars and a private stimulus plan.
I'm wondering what you think about this -- scandal though in terms of of the targeting that went on.
Do you think that it may be a tip of the iceberg and that other Obama administration agencies.
Also targeted business is our business owners that were enemies of the administration because of the groups they donated to.
I don't know about that but I'll tell you this.
Every American understands -- on the IRS.
And every American understands that if the IRS.
Is involved in targeting.
Individuals or groups of people.
That's not right and so that's -- that's the bottom line -- dollars it's not appropriate use the power government.
And nor is it appropriate use of our government is.
This archipelago of our national security state that's being built.
Where they're tracking reporters and there and they're going and they're targeting people with the IRS and you know these are things that.
Are are anathema to a democracy and have to be challenged whether you're Democrat or Republican.
We you know -- -- -- You're at that Wall Street Journal on Friday and answer column was said in a while congress is looking to see did the White House know about this IRS thing to the White House -- phone -- they are saying we want to go out from.
Kimberly -- writes that.
Didn't have to.
That by demonizing these groups by President Obama publicly brandishing them both of Reading them a threat to democracy he was all but telling all of -- agencies of government to go after these guys what -- you say to that argument.
What what I've read can release.
Column and I I think that she's -- -- residents have to town.
And the tone is one which bureaucrats always on the line look at.
Now can use will in an investigation prove that there was a direct connection probably not.
But there is a town being set.
And again the Americans have a right to respect their government -- abuse of power government can be very powerful and government -- be a force for -- we have to say that.
And you know big government should be a force for good.
But if government gets so much power whether it's a national security state are going after reporters or targeting our groups to the IRS.
That's a problem and needs to be exposed in the meantime going back to the economy.
We have a lot of people are unemployed or working part time one full time jobs -- -- jobs programs and this is what I'm concerned about.
That's why spoke about -- yesterday and I'm saying here again today.
It's you know it's always good at the stock markets moving but middle class America I don't necessarily benefit from that we need to see something that's gonna move wages up.
I give people a chance to -- hold on their middle class status.
Well over -- America has -- the stock part of the retirement account but still go with it thank you for being with us Dennis Kucinich a W -- -- -- death again.
