And -- called.
Well as the United States works to beef up its cyber security in the competition is heating up to find the best way.
To ward off hackers.
How often networks chairman and CEO mark McLaughlin joins me now and a box this is exclusive when we have news about cyber security thinks her hair -- -- let's talk about this meeting in the -- -- secretary goes over it meets with Chinese officials talks about cyber security how big.
A but the threat do you think the Chinese truly are by the.
Our networks here is like and any one single country or actor there's a lot of actors that are very focused very well funded and -- -- using all the technology is there where thoughts being.
That's steal things break in team that your passwords.
Corporate espionage is a lot going on out -- do you get the sense that the US government is is the group that is best.
The best group to fight cyber security or is -- companies like yours you're the firewall business it's your notes private company but maybe.
This is about -- lack I think that it's going to be a combination of public private I don't think the government can do it alone and I don't think any individual company can do and that's why there's a big focus on public private cooperation.
Do you do you have a sense.
What companies are most -- right now again you're the firewall business you're covering businesses consumers as well but do you get a sense of which.
The biggest targets right now for cyber attack I think it depends on who's attacking so if you're just after money then banks obviously you know -- place -- -- and if you're after disrupting things you might go after the energy sector.
-- -- -- talking about a couple of things are happening minister arrived at the Telecom association has blocked an effort by the FC -- issue.
Up cyber security recommendations going back -- that government section of this and -- bacon actually.
Play and so fighting cyber security is so does that kind of tell you that we are big deal a further away -- we want to be right now from kind of protecting.
The networks banks.
Government web sites except -- -- -- well there's a lot of focus on getting it right but there's also a lot of politics involved as well there will be for you know quite some time naturally there's a lot of money at stake.
In my office let's talk -- next generation firewalls explain what that is because that is something that you have been developing one analyst telling us.
Other really when it comes to the competition.
There is no competition that you really are.
You know it's kind of taking over the space with this next generation are also tell me about what is very simply put the fire was the only device you're never -- he's all the traffic coming in all the traffic going out your network and ours is the only one of those devices -- can make all applications safe on your network so if you want to use any application you want.
Would you work with Tulsa OK and then again the selling of the -- the client base that you have.
How is it that client base growing -- your phone ringing more.
Because of what's been happening with the news headlines again with -- little harder and action if what it was very very aggressive on the sell side because it just servers pretty general and what if the focus is right now.
Everybody's where where I think this is probably one of the top three things in corporate boardrooms right now and for us that's resulted in having -- cuts we're looking at your -- -- yeah I've got -- July 20 obviously a little bit of a dip maybe now there might be some new interest and renewed interest in your stock if you well.
One of the things that we haven't talked about -- as mobile secure.
That is just as big of a threat at this point now as network security desktop security is that something where you can see the company moving into -- -- got a new IOS app.
Today that your actually released so we do with that apple and yes symbols just another way for applications to get on the network and it's a big way because everybody's -- devices to to the office and that's the threat.
What are device does is to protect all of -- applications -- come off your mobile device -- laptop desktop tablet doesn't matter.
You know it's and -- because if you look at the numbers and you go back to 2008 and in Florida look at amount of money.
It has been spent on cyber security it's a multi billion dollar figure it's not six billion dollars and I'm curious we've seen so much and -- activity.
Do you are you open to big acquired by -- company do you think that that would be a better way for your shareholders to profits.
No we've got a yet we've got a ten billion or six to ten billion dollar market opportunity about 3% market share and a fantastic technology so we were taken a go it alone approach I guess is your question -- -- I get bodies would you -- buying other companies smaller.
Companies may -- that have.
More of but niche market when it comes to mobile security we have war.
A that international exposure that you need -- -- a nice place and that our road map allows us to address that hole wolf they're going to our opportunity today but if we saw smaller companies and technologies to accelerate roadmap -- interest -- -- -- We see the company in ten years -- lots -- -- is actually one of those names and it is from an area days.
That is the one of the true survivors.
It when it comes to again technology and and global security if you will what do you see this company in ten -- -- goals be the leading independent and a President Bush critic writer in the -- that's a huge market opportunity and independent -- just let -- It did not get excited about it -- I -- and that -- that's that's our vision.
Okay we'll mark -- going to be watching the company to see where -- -- nexus certainly sever security is now on the minds of many of us again with all the help once.
Coming out of China and the fact that we had so many of our web sites including our financial web sites.
Hacked recently so mark thank you very much for coming -- have me all right mark McLaughlin Powell also networks chairman CEO and of course the president put.
