I think Apple's got some trouble on its hand it's buying -- -- as Samsung unveils a new.
Galaxy -- four phone that you can control what your i.'s list.
If -- DD was watching a video.
Fans.
Something caught her -- The -- CS four will automatically -- the video so the you don't lose track.
-- -- -- You know actors silly to do phone's features that are very splashy unveiling at radio city music volunteered -- -- -- of rock cats.
But Samsung it and -- fired up like a rocket getting all this up public feels intentional was notoriety.
And apple doesn't like in fact it's been outspent by Samsung.
An advertising by some sixty million dollars -- -- that happen.
We you know Adam -- literally wrote the book.
Apple he says that the companies should be -- tax expert.
Chris brought here as well on.
That.
Chris.
Will what do you make of this first -- -- how worried.
Apple's should be.
Apple should always be worried but as long as it stays true to what it does best.
It shouldn't be worried because it's going to have a core community its customers who are always going to be loyal to apple.
-- have -- is that it's important frozen I mean that it isn't that the issue that that that that community.
Now -- choices and apparently appealing -- of that.
Yeah I I completely disagree and in my book -- which I appreciate your mentioning.
I read of the reason that apple -- -- the biggest market cap company in the world is not because of its lawyer loyal customer base.
It's because it grew a whole new customer base of people like us people were not apple fanatics.
And the Samsung galaxy S three and now -- for is just an extremely good phone.
I'm not saying it's an iPhone killer but the fact that its iPhone worthy is very very concerning for apple.
You know what I I never understood I'd LD these every gadget that comes out of -- companies and data at a new wrinkle and new.
Teacher what I've noticed I deferred above the you know more about there's certainly -- them.
Read your book out of that -- inner workings of apple in the uniqueness of their technology.
But I've always found that incarnations.
Of of other phones are sort of ripple hold some of apple features that I'm not saying patent ripples out right but I am saying that day in this case and this offering it's a little different.
Because there are so young and.
Let me give you new simple drag on and -- an I phone user I've played around with the earlier version the they asked three.
It makes are moving the cursor when your typing much easier been on the iPhone which is still -- terrible experience and I'm thinking when I found when I realized this for myself.
This just can't -- apple can't be behind on something as fundamental as tightening but they are and regular consumers understand that.
-- what do you think is that a big word you crests are now.
Well it's it's relative what one person finds -- it's frustrating another person finds freeing.
I mean you're always going to have holy wars you know between conservatives and liberals and IOS and -- devices.
If anything if I was someone who was making -- phones I'd be more concerned about the galaxy S three and ask for because.
That's pretty much the android phone of choice these days well but but aren't -- it is -- -- genre outselling apple now.
-- in an aggregate yes.
But the -- -- got to remember is that Google -- in very much like Microsoft -- -- doesn't mean there -- some nuances but the -- -- and Henry he's in the need to set an aggregate yes I -- -- -- story -- but that no it's not -- -- because -- they're two different ball -- to different companies to completely different business models and purchased in -- once.
The -- once he's -- -- India and not as -- Hang on more.
More I think shown that IOS users spend money to the developers gonna go to where they're software can be purchased both -- -- okay what what do you make of that on.
All all of that is true I'd now like actually like the political now I'm -- -- it'll get its -- because I had no idea what -- really was saying but I.
I don't out of my -- there -- -- recent.
And it.
Here's how I would it explain it -- there -- apple had a period of time where it was the only global superpower in Smartphones and that's really relevant because.
If you have the money to buy a high end phone there was only one you were gonna will but you're going to buy and that gave.
Apple tremendous.
Profits and pricing power and market power and so -- And that just isn't the case anymore there are at least two global superpowers now.
Apple's iPhone in Samsung's galaxy -- four but there's others on the horizon for Microsoft from Blackberry.
And apple exists apple does best when it dominates.
Not when it's part of the pack.
So that's the threat facing apple right now.
So we -- game changer Chris for apple in other words out whether it's his Dick Tracy what -- thought about or something it changes the playing field.
Because right now in its existing.
Then used it it has some competition.
It doesn't it doesn't as a standalone device has absolute competition but I think you have to start looking beyond.
This is being a phone it's a primary computer for some people to pocket computer you get it's more about how this device -- operates with other devices I can use an airport -- prayer.
In airplay enabled us system like an apple TV.
And this is just one device in an array of let's -- dozens and so as long as.
-- here's the real reserve and they pervert it.
Here's the real concern for apple for a handful of years you're absolutely right you -- only do those things in the apple ecosystem.
Android and Samsung phones and others have gotten so good.
That pretty much anything you can do want an iPhone you can do on on an android cell -- and for example.
You don't need to carry your iTunes music around review any -- -- because you can subscribe to pandora or Spotify which I know you do.
And this is a very very meaningful change for the apple system and I also -- -- -- would you -- institution -- -- Slim no job and really do you target out well I don't know what's gone on here but I know Apple's got a fight on its -- not -- Sally Fraser but it could be good --
