Hi everyone consumer prices had their biggest increase in almost four years last month.
-- prices rose point 7% from a month ago topping the estimates for a point 5% rise if you factor out food and energy core CPI was up point 2%.
Right in line with the estimate we also got the latest reading on -- state of manufacturing in the New York region from the New York fed.
The empire manufacturing index came in with a reading of nine point 24 for this month.
The estimate was for a reading of ten the February reading came in at ten point four.
Taking a look at the markets here futures have been fairly flat this morning we do have green -- across the board now Dow futures are up five.
-- about a court -- the nasdaq's up almost four.
Meanwhile major bank announced share buybacks and dividend hikes after the Federal Reserve released the results of its latest stress test.
Citigroup is buying back more than one billion dollars of its stock while Bank of America.
Has approved a five billion dollar buyback.
Wells Fargo.
Is boosting its quarterly dividend to thirty cents -- point five cents.
Discovers buying back 2.4 billion dollars of its stock in hiking its quarterly dividend to twenty cents a share from fourteen cents.
And American Express -- hiking its quarterly dividend 15% to 23 cents a share.
Samsung has unveiled its new galaxy S for Smartphones stepping up its rivalry with apple on -- on turf.
The -- -- company introduced a phone last night at New York's famous Radio City Music Hall.
Complete with actors and a live orchestra to help present the S -- various features.
They include a larger and sharper screen and the best selling S three has an upgraded -- -- and a larger battery.
Apple and Samsung have been slugging it out in the high end Smartphone market.
The competition that's led to some bitter courtroom battles around the world over claims of patent infringement.
