Spending or potentially hurt small business owners joining me now -- -- Fox Business exclusive is one of those governors.

Pennsylvania governor Tom Corbett thank you so much governor for being here and and look let's just let's just make one -- clear -- the federal government.

Says it would manage the costs for the first three years yet initially you were saying.

You wouldn't go for it.

Why wouldn't you take that opportunity if the feds are gonna be paying for most of it for the first three years.

Well Liz first -- what we said is we can't recommend it to the legislature this time.

Because I believe that we need significant reforms today as we look at an expansion is not sustainable in Pennsylvania.

What it -- to Pennsylvania is adding up to 800000 new children and adults.

Into a program and our program we currently spend.

More as of that of our budget and 27% and any other state on Medicaid -- Missouri.

So we have to look at the costs our average -- already -- 7400 dollars that's almost 3000 more than all the other states.

So we need to look it -- the Pennsylvania solution it is.

To increase access to quality care.

And not look at a one size fits all as Washington likes to seem to do with all of the states so we're in the press -- right now making your own analysis of our situation.

For Pennsylvania I'm.

I do have a number of questions into US secretary Sebelius to various letters -- we're waiting for responses we've gotten some we have more questions as a result.

So we we still have a ways to go in the final decision OK so -- a -- now I think there's a chance you could reverse the decision.

Well I can't recommend -- right now on the facts that I have right now.

If the fact substantially changed than I would have to reconsider -- -- we are but.

Ma'am I don't see that in you know you ask me about the first three years -- problem is the federal government's also said they will keep 90%.

After that.

By the federal government has a track record of not keeping their promises if you look at special education which I think was supposed to be around 50%.

That they would continue to find.

And now they're down to about 1718 -- The -- -- so you're show looking out.

Not what what is said but what you know from past experience of the question becomes action actions speak louder than words.

And it's hard to make promises that future congress is going to keep.

What can you do though governor you said 800000.

Children is that what you said can I just quantify that let's talk show to children and adults so what are you gonna do I how do you make sure -- wearing only.

There -- children because we have that the chip program -- the national chip program was modeled on the chip program we have here.

In Pennsylvania we have a vast majority.

Of our children are already on there but some new ones would be -- -- but -- would be mostly.

Adults and as I -- you know looking at this.

Mostly single family single individual -- that would be added to the program.

As we wait then we'll we'll have to wait till you make your final decision on what's happening with Medicaid let me just get your thoughts on sequester Pennsylvania is expected to really be hammered by that.

You personally have been critical of the way the house senate Republican strategy has been during the sequester talks what would you like to see.

Well I would have liked to have seen not just the house -- descendant participate in this.

My to comments -- came just at the house and the president sit down into what governors across the country do.

With their legislators.

Go through a budget -- -- guy -- if you have to reduce.

Then you take money out in different programs we do that all the time we -- you're seeing here is.

2% across the border if he was 2% across the board without any indication.

That if you have extra money of one program you could take several -- from that program and not take so much out of a different program.

The military is a clear example of that my National Guard -- general.

Has said he has the money meet it reserve right now because we haven't brought our new -- -- employees.

To cover some of the kospi being told to lay off federal employees one day week.

They sometimes say the governors make them really -- presidents 'cause they know how to get stepped on like that thank you so much we'll wait to see what happens governor but we appreciate you coming on.
