After your first career and full time motherhood joining us live to discuss this is Julie -- author -- president act three.
And I have to ask you refer to yourself as an act three woman what does that mean absolutely so I am a woman who had a first career.
Then stayed home to raise children.
And then went what am I gonna do next and what next for me it was starting a company that would help women figure out what they wanted you next.
And I called it act break even even in today's world where you hear a lot about I guess that the the term stayed home long.
I -- you don't hear as much as used to but it still lot of women who stay at home during that you know from they go from whatever it is they're doing first.
Raise the -- -- at least get the kids into school and then go back to.
The original Korea they might have set out on book -- you're talking about is totally you may not go back to which it started out on it's a whole new act.
In fact you're actually right first -- millions of women right now the boomer women are -- casting and their highly educated.
Stayed home 101520.
Years and they're now going what -- and you're exactly right.
What they did before personal back trimming not even exist anymore I had one client say to me they don't even make the copiers I used to South Africa but -- it doesn't exist anymore or maybe like most women.
You're going I don't wanna do that anymore let let's get into -- the steps are to achieve a fulfilling actually we actually have them we can -- the people who -- watching first.
Identified -- gifted passions what does that mean.
Well -- your figure -- what you wanna do next.
It's -- to look at all the things you've been doing -- you've been staying home now these women they're not just staying home sitting in the room.
They're out engaged in the community doing interesting things to taking the time to think about.
All these things have been doing what I'd love to do that's that passion part -- but then.
What are my guess that that.
Because if I just love to do -- that honestly am not very good it's not gonna get you very far okay but having passion isn't enough you also have to have what you grew refer -- -- pinpoint your biggest motivate yours.
Interesting to understand how each one of -- motivated you're.
Motivated by something completely different that -- motivated for an if you don't understand how your motivated my final chapter of the book talking about it.
He might go off in the wrong -- -- start -- get the passions.
And then you married those with -- you're motivated to come up with what I call your act rate and then pro actively address what might hold you back -- -- mean by that.
For a lot of women.
They don't even getting -- in the next act because they might be worried about.
I have to let the dog -- at 2 o'clock so how can I do anything different.
Or it may be you know my husband isn't that excited about this idea of me doing something different so I suggest -- -- tied.
Think about all -- thanks -- asked what are all the things that might hold you back and they come up with a work around way to get around that problem.
And the last to take small steps to achieve your goals and then ready yourself for big changes that will come -- I I would imagine big changes -- -- you transition.
From any any time right but but what do you mean by take small steps that you -- had watched the Biggest Loser.
I don't know other I love this these enormous people come on I have to lose a huge amount -- me.
And what -- the -- -- said than you know if you think about the 300 parent -- -- -- -- You may not get -- to think about what you have to do tomorrow I love that advice.
My women have the same issues if they think right now I don't know what I wanted -- how I get there are.
Then it's overwhelming so would you describe yourself as a career Coach I mean that's -- it is some what this sounds like.
At -- our company.
Who helps all kinds women whether they want to go back to work whether they wanna start businesses them or whether they just wanna live a fulfilling life.
And we do have a career Coach that works with the -- want to go back you're pretty yourself those and act three woman I'm curious what was your passion what -- your biggest motivated.
Is helping people and I did that with my previous career as a lawyer.
And now I'm getting to deal with all these women across the country with my book and my speaking engagements.
My -- they.
A little embarrassing to -- -- actually found out -- motivated by recognition.
I get my money hey I go back up I would know nothing about.
-- -- -- -- So it's little wonder -- that's -- -- -- on it and.
-- it's -- and then what -- I I I you know I'd like alleging that I'm glad you mentioned that I always used to -- -- -- hear my colleagues say you know I really don't like attention to that what do you do not deviate.
I don't get people -- that's how on sitting here in this chair and that's why I'm doing that that -- -- talking about the reasons to take small steps touches some point just have to job.
The into the unknown.
I firmly believe in what's called watching and learning so you do you launch and you'll learn as you go along them.
But if you haven't taken a small step to get there the launching is too overwhelming for most of my women so we do plot -- out.
And then with our encouragement.
You just have to launch I am curious that why you didn't decide to go back and practiced law.
For much of the reason dad my client said the -- -- existing or -- -- tax lawyer.
And -- -- to change I would've had to got.
Get completely re educated and the reality was the -- that interesting to me anymore and so what did you come up with the idea of writing this book.
Well first -- started the company in 2008.
And was helping a lot of women in Cincinnati.
But I really wanted to help all those millions of women across the country and that caused me to write the book and -- -- look at what kind of.
Feedback you getting from the -- -- -- -- you have to.
It convince them the top two reasons to take small steps well I can't tell you how -- -- it is to get.
Emails written to me about women that actually followed the process of the buck and then I let you know what they're do -- -- as an author of first time on our.
That it's just amazing to hear that I've been loving helping the women and of course we do still do our individual coaching and we get that across the country by -- so we get -- even interact with went quick and you get the book.
