Well I've got the governor from Arizona Jan Brewer is joining us here live on Fox Business because Arizona along with communities in Virginia.

And other states have opened offices here all this is it that have been open for quite some time.

To recruit not only to relocate to their states but to expand in their states why is Arizona.

Consider California right.

Ground fertile ground to get businesses to -- Well we're looking California with -- -- taking place W we believe that Arizona.

By a long shot is a lot more competitive than what California has to offer.

Yeah we've actually got some of the statistics as to why businesses have been moving to Arizona for instance you look at the corporate tax rate in Arizona the corporate tax rate is.

Six point 9% but over the next three years it's going to drop.

By 30% but in California it's eight point 4% -- the businesses when they talk about at least expanding.

Into Arizona is that one of the issues -- are -- other issues.

Well yeah they're concerned about a lot of different business things that impact their business -- quality of life.

Field work force base and when I became governor -- was my major.

-- -- Arizona.

Business friendly and -- let the world know that we are open for business.

When you talk about business friendly there was a survey done here in California by the business roundtable and 62% of the business leaders.

Who were actually surveyed said that this state is very difficult California's difficult to do business and then you talk about Arizona the cost of doing business.

Is much cheaper in the face like Phoenix we have some statistics side of the global the graphic but -- -- -- in Phoenix that.

Median price for single family home 159000.

San Jose the area we're in here in California 535000.

Dollars.

So to attract business you're also looking at the cost of labor and we got to look at the cost of housing.

This must be a big player for yeah.

As a huge player and it's the quality of lives and great lifestyle quality of life -- very much a vote last.

Fans coming for syndicated data when I became governor the day I was sworn in his -- -- Heinemann rules and regulations.

Mentioned California had been in killer.

You know.

Not able to function so we've -- a marketing company.

They know that they've got that capability and develop.

That's one thing actually that the business leaders we've been speaking to here they talk about as being a negative for California's regulation.

There's also the fact though that states will sometimes offer incentives for businesses to relocate or -- bad.

Arizona offers incentives but you do it differently than other states in that for its -- get a tax credit for research and development Intel.

-- expanding 300 million dollar into investment in Arizona.

But they they don't get the tax -- -- let me that there -- certain thresholds.

We believe the performance from you know if it they're able to perform then they're gonna get that tax incentives and it works well for the state taxpayers -- -- what's great with the businesses.

And it's encouraged him for them you know that they have a -- -- -- spot right governor of Arizona Jan Brewer thank you for joining me live on Fox Business you -- -- -- --
