-- -- -- Republicans in congress right now who refused to compromise even an -- When it comes to closing tax loopholes and special interest experts.
And that's what's holding things up right now.
You know he's not the only one blaming Republicans over these automatic cuts.
Some Republicans also frustrated with leaders of their own party -- -- next -- one of them.
You talk about our differences both sides of botching this governor good to have you -- -- -- We'll thank you nail you know I think there's a dearth of leadership out there as a governor.
We are expected to get things done and if we don't get things down we -- criticized for.
And what I -- in Washington DC is a -- to criticize.
Frankly the taxpayers are not being treated very fairly.
It's like a dysfunctional marriage back there embraced point the finger at one another nobody's taking the blame.
And and frankly as it's got to stop this is hurting the taxpayers and hurting the states.
And certainly heard in the marketplace.
Republicans say they've already given governor and their pound of flesh by agreeing to tax hikes in the last deal because Sokol -- deal.
And they're not -- of repeat that again they've given the president what he wants enough -- -- start cutting.
And that -- say it's really his fault not careful what he's.
Well again leadership starts at the top -- the executive branch pres Obama has the opportunity.
To be honest broker here and actually lead and bring the parties together.
That we talked with -- here just over the weekend he talked about entitlement reform I suggested to him -- -- -- speak a little louder and put it on the table now.
And I again I don't know what's going on behind the scenes with these folks in their discussions.
I'm frustrated because it impacts my bottom line is and put -- the my own budget right now under the state of Utah and were pretty healthy economy.
But what frustrates me more than anything else is this talk about cutting.
And a loss of of services to the public when there's no talk about the increased efficiencies in the federal government there's no reason why we cannot have a -- And yet finding efficiencies and and the federal government financing what originally.
Is cutting right governor I mean it you you know -- better than anyone that they're relates curbing and then ever so slightly.
One and at present -- more like -- the growth in a lot of these programs but that being said.
What do you figure Republicans -- plan that's been raised all right Mr.
President will give you discretion when asked to be cut wider parameters than than exist now.
Thereby taking an arguing point away.
From the White House that all these draconian cuts are coming into place.
Giving the president power to -- side more are optional cuts really needs departments -- purview.
Well I think it's proposal be put out their put the president on the spot -- -- dead being rejected and he rejected out of hand -- -- -- -- Actually he wants to have the congress do that.
Do work he does want to be put in the position of having to decide where to take that the cuts from.
Then again I think that's the the problem both are -- this way there needs to be some discussion about spending cuts I told the president has Sunday.
I says it does not parachute me Monday it does not help when we have the former speaker of the house.
Nancy Pelosi out -- on the Sunday shows here just a few weeks ago saying there's not a spending problem Washington everybody knows -- spending problem in Washington.
He said we don't have to have a sequestration.
We agree but there needs to be spending cuts.
And just because Ginnie don't you can.
-- governor -- whatever reason that Republicans are losing this argument everything is that is very valid fair.
There you have -- -- have to bring could see the wisdom what you're saying but Republicans are always draw on the shorter under the strong.
That's.
Well I we put ourselves in a bad situation probably with after the fiscal cliff discussion right we allowed tax rates to be increased.
And came back and so will do the -- later and now also the cuts are not part of the discussion that's right that's it probably bad poker playing.
But we've got to find some discipline back in Washington.
Again doesn't anybody find it unconscionable that the senate.
You know hasn't had a budget in four years and and what's happened in the senate for heaven's sake.
At least sector speaker Boehner has had two different proposals that came out of -- congress of different ways that that make the spending cuts.
With a more specified.
You know disciplined approach is -- this shotgun approach we see with sequestration.
So I can idea of governors are frustrated.
I'm frustrated it impacts what we're doing here are states -- -- own budget.
We need to see some leadership they've got to quit squabbling got to come together and the president have bought -- more than anybody else.
As the guy who's not be -- anybody's any second term.
He could say the Democrats we're gonna have entitled reform.
Speaker Boehner we're gonna look at blue polls we've already got tax rate increases let's come together for the good of the American people around and bring some -- into the -- -- the business and go -- and and create and innovate and and have the economy expand again.
Either way it's a month's sense governor on but thank you it's -- could see it served you well we're -- -- Utah -- can be done in Washington and had a beautiful state besides themselves.
-- -- Q thank you.
