Top story tonight a big turn from the out of control spending in DC believe -- Some law makers -- successfully cutting back on spending and actually giving budget surpluses back to the US treasury it is amazing.

But it's true so what does give the president under control Republican South Carolina congressman Jeff Duncan is one of is returning to taxpayers he joins us now congressman that welcomed the show thanks for coming time.

Thanks for having me you have announce that you are returning 2000.

Dollars that is 15%.

-- -- 2012 budget allow us to the treasury how did you manage that.

Well I came from the the private sector -- small business owner and now we get a budget every year my office is run like a business we do a budget.

And now last year we were able to give back about 200000 dollars we give back about 200000 dollars this year about 15% of our budget and that's on top.

Of our mandatory across the board cut for the house represented that happened last year of about 11% cut we're just operate like a business like folks to back home men in the private sector.

Were -- tempted to just have a massive pizza party I mean you have to turn that money back gate were -- trying to set an example what was the idea.

Well it's just being responsible of taxpayer dollars and non that's what we should should do we should have a budget you know it's been thirteen hundred and -- eight days since the United States senate.

Has passed a budget for this nation and and that's abysmal we upgrade our our office like we -- budget I had a ribbon cutting.

And no we had a budget for office answer were operated like a small business does impact how much money you're gonna get next year we get used say that you don't need as much what you get last.

Well -- up portion that money out based on the -- -- your district -- -- counties that geographic -- of I don't think it'll -- the number that we get but I think will affect his whether we have another across the board cut for the house we have operated the house representatives under John -- leadership at a very responsible level that's what Republicans seem to do we budget and we operate like small business -- its independence -- -- well of course senior senator Rand Paul.

I'm returning about 600000.

Dollars is there a lesson in here for the rest of Washington.

Absolutely there's a lesson and that is to be responsible with taxpayer dollars -- met with -- undersecretary of the Department of Homeland Security today and we talked about some of these things how they're gonna -- the sequestration.

Just using management practices that our.

Used every day in the private sector a plan those to the government.

So think about that by the way because we're asking everybody comes on the showed today to react to.

All of the different things that we have heard this week and this weekend.

About how dramatic -- -- cuts are gonna be -- -- if you listen to people out there in the media specialist upcoming from the White House.

There's -- -- -- planes falling from the sky -- there's going to be children going without vaccinations.

Are those scare tactics in your mind.

I think they're very much scare tactics this today very small about a two and a half percent cut.

As 85 billion dollars it cuts discretionary spending only -- -- mandatory spending yes I would like to reallocate some of those cuts I would like death.

To maintain the level of funding for our military -- defending this country is a constitutional government.

But ended the day every agency -- absorb some cuts now they need to come up with a management plan on how to activate.

And implement those cuts and not heard of the most.

Vulnerable let's say the customs and Border Patrol on the border we shouldn't limit those officers that's a very vital component -- government.

But we -- cut some other -- every agency can absorb some cuts.

-- congressman you are there and we are here so it's so hard pressed to know what's really going on this cat's gonna happen or as they're gonna be a last minute deal.

How they're gonna happen I don't see a last minute deal there's so diametrically opposed the two parties this is the law of the land this was a reason dollar ramification.

Of the debt ceiling bill I didn't vote for back in August of 2011 because I didn't want a safe across the board -- -- -- targeted cuts.

But it will happen.

The president holds more revenue as part of the -- we're not gonna -- more revenue on our side we -- -- dip into the mandatory spending and entitlement spending.

As if we're -- reallocate then let's reallocate there.

Democrats don't wanna do that and so -- sequestration -- -- end -- fact this was Obama's plan as part of the debt ceiling deal.

It will happen his plan will be implemented on the first of march.

And then we got to see -- to deal with by continued resolution.

I'm march 27 and so I think you'll see a little bit over reprogramming and re allocation of those cuts bother the time to -- argued Spanish.

They'd say well you know -- thousand dollars a busy tiny tiny tiny little drop in the bucket in Washington but it's something and now you're set an example -- thanks coming on tonight.

But thanks let's put it on the Dallas and our plan but I think that's right after it's out applied to the ballots they cannot --
