First guest tonight can attest firsthand to the lack of urgency and accountability and it in Washington.

Please concerning the sequester joining us now former senator Scott Brown now -- -- news contributor aren't great to have you with us.

Let's none of that let us turn to this.

This horror show spectacle that the president is trotting out seemingly every person in the administration.

Of being given the opportunity -- from a cameras and try to scare.

The American people what do you make up.

-- the a broken record strategy this is something that I've heard for the last three years they.

They put something -- -- give -- a great title but then when you read the billion find out it's not what it's meant to be we did sequestration appear remember because we're trying to avoid default.

And now make sure the credit rating -- rating agencies didn't lower our credit rating.

I came up with what they consider draconian cuts Harry Reid and Mitch McConnell said -- by the way don't Mario gonna put -- a select middle.

Thoughtfully and judicially spread these cuts all over you know over evenly and that didn't happen bottom line is listen this has been up for a year.

And I am I and others have said let's get to a let's get -- -- they've done everything but this there on vacation that they should have come back last week if it's that important.

I don't think it gets -- I hope I'm wrong but there -- a lot of people depending on obviously some type of certainty and stability.

There there is there an interest things -- difference of view within the Republican Party.

Speaker Boehner in his op Ed this week.

-- acknowledge that there would be significant disruptions as a result of sequester going into effect.

Yet most of the Republican Party says this is what we need we need to see you spending.

We need to take care -- -- even -- -- across the board and arbitrary.

There is a real division right now artwork and the Republican Party apparently is that right.

Well I haven't heard so much about let's just make the cuts in and forget about it I'm I'm in the Pentagon going to be serving next week again.

And -- -- colonel and I -- -- obviously that National Guard bureau right and that's all they talking about the very concerned not only for the people that are going to be laid off those civilian contractors.

But the -- for the men and women of the serving in the people in the all all up and down that supply chain.

Having that level of regulatory and now tax and payment security.

Bottom line is out doing in the cuts of course we need to make the cuts but.

The president's insurance cards and Harry -- in charge of the senate do you think that that they were in charge of very thing apparently we're not.

The president needs to show leadership the house already sent forth some proposals they're sitting on Harry's desk he's done absolutely nothing.

To bring this to a head he'll put a good bill -- With a great title it won't be what we want and -- force you to do -- and then by the way blame the Republicans when it doesn't happen.

And that then they'll they'll get back to it after after that obviously the march 1 deadline.

Of course military pay will not be affected by sequester -- there will be correct but the prospect of possible rolling furloughs one day a week.

The -- affect -- civilian employees perhaps great number of them.

In that rolling furlough situation if it does in fact occur.

The idea of -- sequester.

Turns out have been if it seems to me and monumental.

Misjudgment on the part of both parties and as president.

And I can't believe frankly that we're sitting here approaching march 1.

And neither the president nor the Republican leadership -- said you know this was a really stupid idea and the only people with the power to correct and massively ignorant device that we created.

And the and the repugnant results would be us and we're going to take that opportunity and be leaders and responsible right now.

Why isn't such a thing occurring to the president of the United States who is as you point out as you.

Return to service.

For the country next week he's the commander in chief for crying out law.

But he needs to show leadership and you're absolutely right bottom line is the people were elected.

-- there and washing their elected to take those tough decisions they were elected to make sure that these types of things don't happen in the putting partisan politics and their own personal interest.

And the ability to finger point.

Ahead of our country's interest -- not acting as Americans first.

And making sure that we can step back from this issue because don't forget we've already cut a half a trillion from the military budget.

And revision when -- say we can't cut more it's just a question of let the military do -- -- give them the ability to.

I have the authority to make those cuts tell other committee chairman and the ranking members Harry Reid to do your jobs and get out there and do a top to bottom review of all of Europe.

Committee responsibilities and find one point two trillion dollars worth of things to cut.

Now Richard not to.

Aligned.

-- -- if you will be your first.

The I was 5050 -- I was 5050 -- I could have gone either way seriously gonna have to worry about alignment.

What is your in your view about the continuing these discussions amongst the -- that is a super committee that creates this travesty we call sequester.

That super committee we we also have.

Of the gain debate on immigration without public discussion in town -- -- -- credit.

Senator John McCain a veteran of these immigration wars.

-- on Capitol Hill.

He's held town hall meetings and is beginning -- that are here from his constituents.

It's as if all of Washington is decided now that they are above the the French aristocrats in the eighteenth century.

This is becoming unseemly don't you think.

But I'm I'm all for full disclosure and transparency in the things that we do -- -- -- dealing with people's pocketbook and and wallets to make sure that we are good stewards of their money -- right now.

The people in Washington is you of -- people know they're not they're just spending.

Like there's no tomorrow almost like pigs that are trough argues that before.

And we need to stop and to make sure that would listen I love John McCain -- it was a real mentor to me.

And in Washington -- some I consider a national hero.

And the fact that he's out there doing the town hall meetings and and taking a lot of says well as -- -- -- bringing the conversation should people and letting them be part of the process I think can be commended.

We should be doing that would everything.

They had to have the committees this and we're under the gun.

I voted for because we were told by both leaders that the committee would do -- jobs well you know what when you put up Patty Murray the head of the democratic senatorial committee and there.

She's not gonna make those tough decisions.

So we can do better they should be working -- over the last year they're doing everything but the economic issues.

Well senator's great to have you here regard the -- to welcome you this -- Fox News contributor were delighted and I'm delighted also that.

Although they're -- going to be with us for quite some time you're not thinking about any political steps of the -- are you.

Listen though I'm happy to be on your show on Medicaid can Jeremy it is on his you guys don't have me I'm so thank you you -- -- we appreciate it good -- -- -- senator Scott Brown -- now Fox News contributor.

And -- terrific.

A terrific beginning -- -- great inaugural or.
