-- nearly 85 billion dollars and military budget cuts -- kick in our next guests are -- markets now says the lack of leadership in DC could bring those cuts to your wallet.
Before Massachusetts Republican senator and well current Fox News contributor Scott Brown joins us.
Property massachusetts' first -- we've had senator brown on markets -- so -- to see a thank you very much for coming on and you know these issues in which this is is is discussion that's got to turn into a debate so wanna get into it with you -- -- What's the real world impacts.
Of that budget cuts if they happen if -- the sequester goes into effect is it is how would you characterize a big deal people really feel that are now.
Buzz as you may or may not Norma colonel serving over in the -- I'll be there actually given that for the last five weeks.
And that's all they're talking about instead of focusing on Syria North Korea and the things that matter they're doing anything and everything everything is about sequestration so -- Israel.
It affects only the contract -- but the men and women serving all the way down to the -- the supply chain to the smallest provider.
And one of the things that people really need to understand is that there's there is a lack of leadership you get people like Harry Reid Chuck Schumer know and and the leadership team.
That basically you know bring us to the brink every single time.
And then try to ramp up through a bill that has a great title but it doesn't do what it's supposed to.
And then vilify anybody who disagrees and facets are really shameful and don't have many people like you in either party left of people that would go to one side or the other make their decision ministers how many tests telling people like that are -- you congressman and even a lot of -- -- as many right.
Yeah -- there were not many then there's about 23 that we could actually take.
And move but to get cloture and move things forward.
Are right now that a number obviously would does a senator Snowe and Lugar in in Kent Conrad and me we're -- gone so they write the extremes on both sides are just so I just so.
Partisan right now in the incredible gridlock is really affecting -- Who we are as a country and how we solve our very real problem.
All the one of the -- reasons -- -- -- first question I was an interest in perspective you brought under on a personal level than the military.
In your answer is because in the last few days particularly from conservative commentators -- -- show I've seen some and other places and read some of the what people been writing they've been making his case that.
The big picture at a macro level these cuts are not as big as you think that the administration's trying to.
You with the president's appearance the other day with the first responders behind him and everything to try to scare you into -- the Wall Street Journal one of the big articles this morning saying that sudden spending cuts to bleed slowly.
Talk about 44 billion dollars over seven months only half a percent.
Of total economic output so -- -- economy won't feel -- little overall are you countering that by saying an out this really will yet be a big deal for some people.
-- and of course it's a big deal when you're actually taking money out of people's pocketbooks and wallets and not giving him a job in laying them off it affects people in a very real level.
But I think the most important thing is -- the president using his bully pulpit he scaring people is.
Bringing out the forces unleashing his cabinet to go -- do the -- dog and pony show around the country.
But bottom line is this is something they've known about for over a year I actually voted remember how we got to this point is because we didn't -- default and our debt.
We're trying to satisfy the credit rating inches we came up with a draconian deal that the both Harry Reid and Mitch McConnell says oh don't -- -- gonna get to select committee -- gonna.
Fix it while they haven't fixed that there's been no leadership at all.
Trying to step back -- -- that they're on vacation and they should be back at work if it's real and they wanna get to it they should get to and it's up to Harry -- to bring them back and do it most likely go into effect now at this point it's just -- you think they'll figure out just yet they end -- listen none other listen I hope I'm wrong -- -- it's gonna -- -- -- don't have the finger pointing the blame game try to get as much mileage I'm blaming the Republicans.
And anyone else -- didn't agree with them.
And then down the road they have killed the continuing resolution take like ten effect was about.
Days and they'll probably -- got to deal to step back partially.
The bottom line is what we do next year or desperately the credit rating agencies as you know president deal with the stuff all the time looking for a long term solution to our sixteen point five trillion dollar national debt.
They used to you'll.
One of the things they cited last time we were downgraded his dysfunction in Washington doesn't seem like that's been forgotten a silly fixed senator Brown's -- -- or -- -- at fox and that's thanks for coming out with us today we appreciate it.
And -- I'm great thank you.
