Exactly how -- the president's entire republic.

And I Republican rhetoric play out will he prevail this time on his terms -- will.

The Republicans one -- joining me now to answer all of that is being team Fox News legal analyst -- we'll Pulitzer Prize winning journalist.

Fox News contributor Michael Goodwin executive editor of the weekly standard.

Fox News contributor bad Fred -- good to have you with us out -- action I mean I love the fact this president lots props like that and shows no shame in -- Makes for good TV at it at that.

But I think you're right I -- to use props like this especially at this point -- at such a dire straits it was one thing two months ago.

With Newtown and -- to do this again with the wealthy individuals because that's fueling rumors going after.

Yeah I I have I love the idea of putting all the folks up there to do that.

The Republican anti Republican rhetoric today here it is I mean it's on the record sequester is his idea it's on the record.

That he promised there wouldn't be -- sequester take a fact.

What.

Doesn't seem to you on I guess I'm just so much the mom here that.

It looks to me like couldn't hit in the sand box right and they're saying -- have a take out my toys I'm going home and not talking with -- not talking with you.

You're on recess with.

We're gonna have no coming together.

I know that's very simplistic but it's very angry I think for all of us.

As American citizens -- say wait a second repaying you guys to be able to do this to to respond to these questions and you're not doing elect those kids in the sand box why is -- -- pointing out these are all faced lies spread barn.

Media.

They're used to him with President Obama recently -- -- this sequestered the president not only.

Won't take responsibility for it.

He has the -- the author of -- the real guy who came up with the idea is Jack Lew who was his budget director who is now nominated.

-- would be Treasury Secretary so.

And it was the White House also that insisted that happened the sequester B and defense spending and happened domestic spending so the thing is entirely.

Their fault that we've gotten this appointment and the -- what the president talked about today.

He knows perfectly well Republicans are -- except.

Don't like they'll accept another huge tax increase then.

That -- overly unknown proportions because he hasn't.

Set up an offer.

So it won't wouldn't want all this means is that the -- is gonna take place.

You agree I -- I think it's very likely and -- slowed but let's remember not just the fact that the president authored this and signed it into law.

But the fact also that he assumed Republicans would stop and it was always that the Republicans would not go along with -- because of the military cuts but.

I think what the president has lost sight of is that in getting a tax hikes earlier this year.

He didn't give any spending cuts and -- is sequester is all about spending cuts and everyone knows the country needs but they can agree on the details so.

By pushing it off.

The president really has handed the Republicans the leverage that he had -- -- tax -- that they didn't give -- tax thank you want and everybody would get tax hikes now they're gonna get the spending other only they wanna only four days actually get it done.

Mean that's three out are the Republicans going to win one here -- I think -- -- I'm not so -- -- the president is it is really poisoning the Republican brand every time he goes to the podium at the White House and look at it worked in the election back in November and it may work again.

Michael well look I think the Republicans have to stay united that's the key if they do stay united and I think the president will have to come back with a reasonable package whether.

There are tax reforms in closing loopholes that actually don't produce revenue I -- -- -- more complicated thing.

But I think on the issue of spending the Republicans do have the upper and they should be -- that.
