In other tech -- -- cheaper iPhone could soon be in the works at a recent conference apple CEO Tim -- strongly hinting.

You may soon be paying less if you're in the market for a new gadget joining me now Aircastle -- Senior editor for all things digital -- do you think there's a cheaper iPhone -- on the horizon.

No but they already exist to cheaper iPhone already exists on the marketplace the fact is it's older models of and I'm a guy who just a couple weeks ago paid 450 for this bad -- so.

To upgrade so what apple has hit -- hadn't gotten that cheaper could in probably had enough.

But what what apple has traditionally done is it has introduced if you look to the model of the iPod which came before all of this there was one iPod and eventually there were to an -- -- -- before.

Slightly different model with the iPhone here what's happened is that I apple has had multiple models made you know one model is the is the model.

And then the older model -- model comes up from them migrate down.

Makes it available to people who are new to the platform extends a platform hopefully at least part of the business practices to trying to -- sell them later -- We -- it to avoid being up -- That most recent iPad -- buy is refurbished from apple is that a Smart thing to do.

It's just fine you know what I'm still run -- and as far as iPad is concerned -- still perfectly happy with an iPad two from.

You can find one on eBay refurbished or what have you.

Great nothing wrong.

I wanna ask about David Einhorn because he's had his sights set on apple doesn't like the fact that the company has millions and millions of dollars.

In cash sitting on the books he's asking for happened share hundred billion.

He's asking for apple to share this with shareholders what do you make of that.

This fight between David Einhorn an apple is really about kind of an obscure proof provision on the proxy proposal.

And basically what he would like apple to do is offer something called prefer a perpetual preferred stock as a way to return cash to shareholders apple said well.

No it's really the for the -- the provision and Einhorn is suing apple over it.

He argues says that.

This provision.

Prevent apple from doing this and apple says no that's not the case we -- we suggest that shareholders vote for however.

Tim Cook has said very publicly that he would like to study the proposal we think it's novel his interest that.

So we'll see how to -- -- just say I mean come on don't they use this money for innovation.

And speaking of -- Tim Cook recently was asked if apple is still the company up innovation.

He said yes we are if -- if -- reason to worry about this.

I don't think so I think apple.

You know how to get the job done better than anybody else and how to -- the pipeline better than anybody else.

The thing that's most important for apple is consumer experience.

Whatever works for consumer experience and they will do and so when people ask them for instance is a classic question why not make a man dollar -- we can't do it.

And also guarantee.

That user experience.

But it I I think that it's interesting to watch.

This company continue to try to innovate the biggest conversation right now about something called I watch them.

Do you think that's a real idea out there of what would be exact.

Well he dropped ten cook dropped hints about this -- RD conference the ten conference last summer.

He mentioned that he was wearing a Nike device from on this from -- Christopher it was called.

But he mentioned something has an interest in wearable -- went back some of the transcript and so.

I think I think he was dropping very important that that a lot of people a look at.

Well the Nike and BN that you're talking about is actually has to do with exercising that's what steps in now but he's talking about a watch that could have other options.

Exactly apple has XP -- has experimented in the past with Nike for instance they did some.

-- -- called it was it was a -- connected to and I haven't connected to shoes and such for tracking exercise is no reason that you can't do that now.

They're out with a lot of -- with a watch me pyrite iPhone trashed my exercise as it is today so who knows it could be very interest.

I -- got a sure there's more to count thank you so much Eric -- CEO.
