You know the problem well one of the many problems but the -- -- they get up today the problem with the mainstream media if they get tired of stories and they just wanna move not.
Take unemployment the fact that this has been the worst recovery for jobs on record as something the media (%expletive) cant get all that interest -- then.
Today for example USA today ran -- story saying private sector employment.
Topped its pre recession high if housing related industries are taken out excluded.
That's nice but you can't do that because housing is the big Kahuna of job creation it's important you have to include it.
And that's why I want to talk about jobs today because we can't ignore -- The number of jobs in this country has fallen from 139 million at the peak of the labor market in November 2007.
To under 133 million today it's a drop of nearly six and a half million jobs from the peak.
Real unemployment is fourteen point 5% if you include those who are working part time.
Because they can't find full time jobs the ten million who have stopped looking for work and those who work marginally attached to the workforce.
The signs of distress are everywhere as we talked about before more people are on food stamps 15% of the total population.
Another record that we don't like to talk about the millions of Americans who -- collecting Social Security checked to compensate for disability.
Eleven million people.
These aren't shocking statistics.
That should happen.
All of our attention it should have congress up in arms.
But instead we've accepted it.
It's like that embarrassing not uncle that nobody wants to claim.
And it's pretty easy to hide the problem because unlike the Great Depression there -- no long soup lines to get the media's attention to lead that nightly news.
The Palin's getting food stamps goes on remarked another able bodied worker unemployment that's just the way -- -- But it should be acceptable to a nation that can still boast the biggest economy in the world.
-- his state of the union the president talked about how growing middle class is essential for growing economy the -- -- -- is it works the other way.
We have to have a growing economy to get a rising middle class and that will mean less regulation lower taxes and attitudes towards business large and small.
That's encouraging not discouraging.
