So -- collect it all those frequent flier miles an American Airlines and US Airways.

Now news of the merger between the two -- gonna affect those models our next guest says it is best to use those reward miles now because fewer award seats will be available in the future.

In fact availability of those seats has already been scaled back on American Airlines.

We've got the point that Brian -- joining us now so -- ask the question the people at home are probably wanting to ask and that is.

You know are we don't lose out I mean a lot of us are frequent fires an American or US Airways and we're worried that -- Clinton didn't diminish -- Yeah I think the most important thing is you know don't panic the points aren't gonna expire out of nowhere they're not gonna try to take them away from -- out of the normal rules but.

There are going to be big changes in of airlines -- -- -- sure everyone that you know everything is fine but we've heard it right and you know we've seen in past mergers united -- there's going to be some road bumps there's going to be some technical issues you know airlines are.

They have terrible IT -- to antiquated systems coming together.

-- did -- But you shouldn't you know just -- -- miles for.

You know magazines or anything there's still great value to be so you say that we should use those miles up now because ultimately the currency will be worked less -- point -- -- much of South Africa trip yes I mean it it really just depends you know American -- with one world and it's awful you know they're they have twelve different global partners.

US Airways is -- currently star alliance members you've got 27 it's the best network in the world for redeeming miles so.

I just used a 1101000 US Airways miles to go to South Africa business class.

American charges a 150000 miles for that same awards so when they finally merge the two frequent flier programs.

My guess is that they're gonna keep those higher levels so redeem now for awards that may go up in the future.

Okay but if you are bigger fire eye and say American you might -- looking -- say hey well.

Police have already on board -- what is now the largest airline in the world is cutting some benefits there's there's absolutely benefits and one of the things to look into -- you -- status currently American and you know gold fliers don't get complimentary upgrades but US Airways -- do so when they merge the two programs.

No they're very concerned they don't want to make people angry so they may actually bring on perks from US Airways that we program.

And give them to -- fires have a little to be sure there if anybody's life but -- I do know that the upgrade and US Airways paled in comparison to the upgrade and on American right and American services generally nicer than US Airways that -- US there was -- an answer meals on most opera -- right so.

Right now I would imagine Brian that.

All airlines have some kind of contracts loophole that's is that by the way there's some change control.

We don't know yet -- -- so is it mainly PR brand image and customer backlash that keeps airlines in line from toll is widening out.

Absolutely you know you have to understand airlines are making billions off of -- -- also.

You know airlines really -- -- program they can't sell those miles to the credit -- we wouldn't be making billions off frequent flier -- that cost them money don't make don't -- -- no that's that's absolutely amendment American -- I don't actually got bailed out of bankruptcy by American Express and pre purchase billions.

And billions of miles to that they could offer them to the record holders had -- big business.

And the airlines know what they you know really happen down the programs are not be able to sell those things that these -- so what do you like thousand the monetary unit is.
