President says foreign governments the solution.

I had this dream a dream where my president walks to the podium he says stands.

Now I don't have to suck up to my face is much I realize.

Somebody's gotta be the grown up in the room.

-- -- John Boehner said that I recently told him we don't have a spending problem.

And maybe I said that I don't remember that but let's get real we -- have a spending problem.

Look at our history.

For most of the life of America government was relatively small this -- -- tiny.

Federal state and local government together spent less than 500 dollars per person.

That's in today's dollars for more than a hundred years that's all we spent.

And sovereign was less than 5% of our economy.

And this is -- America grew the most week prospered during this period.

Yet even this limited government had plenty of money enough for the Louisiana purchase this is the civil war here.

The transcontinental railroad.

Under small government America became the richest most powerful country in the world.

In my government grew but still only a little this blip appears World War I -- what is world were to.

But notice the size of government came back down weekend after the war.

It since then that -- shot straight up.

When I was a child -- Johnson said government can cure poverty the experts in Washington know how.

And we created all kinds of welfare payments and so.

Government grew.

But we didn't cure poverty.

Now that I've been reelected it dollars and -- that those programs I said need more investment always more.

They didn't work.

Americans were lifting themselves out of poverty on their own when government was small.

But then big government stepped the end and that progress stopped we taught people to be dependent the poor -- -- My friend Bill Clinton at least -- of sort of better track that's this brief flat period of spending.

Don't Canadian want to reform welfare Republicans forced him to.

Was good and the economy growing we actually balanced the budget we were on track to a sustainable future.

But then President Bush -- 90000 new regulators he created new social programs I loved it that they called -- a small government guy.

He created a whole new -- -- department Homeland Security bailed out banks and car companies he was a big -- And then I got elected it and what ha look what happened they -- latter for this we spent more.

Now we're up to 20000.

Dollars per person.

Family of 480000.

Dollars is what we spent.

I'm getting dizzy up -- -- just no way this is sustainable.

We can't pay for the people who retire and really need help at the rate we're going can't afford this.

So this week I had an epiphany.

What was so wrong with the spending in the Clinton years.

Why do we need to spend so much more than what Clinton spent.

America doesn't face greater challenges than we did when Clinton was president.

-- I propose we cut spending by 35%.

35%.

Is what gets suspect Clinton level sequester -- that would at least be a stark.

01 another point those drones I like using what I just re read this this thing's called the constitution.

It seems to say I can't just kill people -- need to look into this thing.

Also I I've decided I've been a hypocrite about the drug war and school choice and -- I can dream can't I do the president might have said that.

Maybe next year and that's our show all see you next week.
