By that I mean a new report by the Government Accountability Office unveiling the thirty federal programs and operations at the highest risk.

For waste fraud and abuse six of which had been on the -- ever since it was first released in 1990.

Hundreds of programs have been on the alert watch and by the way I go back to the early 1980s when you have the I had the famous reports under the Reagan administration that found huge amounts of waste many of those programs still exist.

Is we're coming very close to this point where we're gonna have these.

Automatic across the board -- about five or 6% in these domestic programs -- the agency -- are gonna say we can't take these cuts it's gonna require you know.

You know one of the points that the GO made really was you know because climate change is such a catastrophe and we're gonna have more storms and more hurricanes and and I guess more you know of -- -- Snow blizzards you know we're gonna leave me even more money for these agencies which is interesting -- because you know it's just look at the data over the last five years actually -- prior to sandy we -- -- last you know severe storms than a tyrant.

And thirty yourself you know they pick I mean it's amazing isn't it pick one storm.

At one pinpoint and they say this proves something they've been trying to talk about for fifty I don't another -- -- -- what I.

Lot of programs rather I think 66 or seven programs dealing with with global warming -- -- -- -- just -- -- One for -- revealing what global worry you know here's the interesting -- So GAO points out that these programs are out of control and and just rife with waste the waste fraud and abuse.

And yet the president just days ago in the state of the union saying hey we need to double down on climate change and our spending for climate change what do you make of that.

Well I've I've discovered a rule of Washington I've been here for 25 years if the program is not working -- that means we're not spending enough money.

If a program is working that means we should be spending more because it is working and and I think that's sort of the attitude I mean really truly that's the attitude of congress twenty I'm here we're not spending enough.

I mean -- -- says this progress working so let's spend more.

There's -- there's always an excuse to spend more money yeah.

Even with sequestration we're still talking about cutting the growth of the federal government not about cutting the federal government right.

That's for sure if you look at our we we mapped out these numbers are editorial last week.

You know the average federal agency got about 25% increase in their budget over the last forty -- -- -- they can take a 5% cut in the most amazing statistic by the way.

You know we spent I think the number was close to sixty billion dollars dollars on sandy.

Most of which by the way as you know you reported this on your show most of that was not because of the immediacy immediate damage of the storm.

Well guess what the amount we spent on sandy that's more than the cut some of the -- agencies from the subcluster.

Wow wow wow wow OK the big hit the think -- -- my view on this list that never gets taken office Medicare.

That is something that has absolutely got to be fixed.

You know if you're talking about entitlement spending in the fact that we cannot corral it.

And it grows like topsy in the obligations are huge -- let's get rid of the fraud but see how do we do that.

Well I would say that god might take issue one thing I think Medicaid may actually have more problematic keep -- admitted to close contest but both of those big boulders of the budget have enormous amounts of fraud you know people if for example would medicate what people do wealthy people they'll they'll take all the assets from their parents not put -- -- -- Medicaid nursing home is just one example summer -- it cost taxpayers.

Tens of thousands of dollars per patient that does that so there's rampant fraud.

What what this would discourages me is there's no.

Inclination in this administration and in -- the money Republican administrations to -- that waste and let's bring in somebody like got.

You know Rudy Giuliani or somebody who knows where their bodies are buried -- go through that budget.

You know as the presence -- live not live members of the six or seven years in order to go through line by line -- by the by the waste that has never happened.

In the last five years even as the budget has gone up by you know several trillion dollars.

Snow and only got suggestions for increasing government spending not not curbing it out of this administration -- -- I think line wasn't when the president said we've got all these new spending programs I think you've got to what fifty of them but they're not gonna cost of not now -- they won't add to the deficit.
