And we've got another unintended consequence of Obama cat adopted shortage in California that are not enough doctors to treat all the new people -- gonna have health coverage so.

The state is considering new rules that would allow non doctors or nurses or pharmacists.

To perform treatments that normally -- -- and d.s.

-- -- -- this if you're in California.

To my mind this would simply devalue.

Your medical degree degree and all the money that is spent in training and study.

Absolutely -- couple points first of all this is in California alone -- all over the United States for talking about California 30% of the doctors there are reaching retirement age.

About sixty -- the counties have primary care shortages we saw a huge primary care doctor shortage in Massachusetts after the state law passed there.

Now we're gonna say that see the same thing nationwide over the next few years.

And the at and in addition to that there's the doctors that are gonna quick or that and gonna scaled back.

Because they can't afford to work under the current situation with.

-- more expenses and cutting of fees now the problem is we can't just replace these doctors with pharmacists.

And nurse practitioners and physician's assistant and Stuart -- given flu shots we can.

I'm not have that happen OK let us turn this around for a second what's wrong.

With a pharmacist for example taking my blood Prussia.

Over a period of time and funny -- my blood pressure is too high a prescribing a drug -- is is -- something inherently wrong with that.

I want to walk you through what's wrong with that when I tell you this you're -- understand what's wrong with -- Obama -- here's what's wrong.

In the office when you come in and I check your blood pressure checking blood pressure is something I have done for over 25 years and I have a way to do it and I haven't I compare -- in my mind with thousands of other blood pressure readings when you go to a pharmacy.

You're getting an electrical device that I feel is an accurate.

So you may get up and I don't think any of them -- -- any of those battery powered ones are accurate humane them with a blood pressure reading and I don't think -- accurate that you get the -- you don't need.

And -- monitoring the effects of the -- someone that's never done that before.

You can't just replace.

Primary care -- like me who have been treating high blood pressure but 25 years with a pharmacist who has never done that it's gonna end up leading to access health care cost how does he know what -- to prescribe.

So your saying that this devalues the whole concept of adopt and his practice that you gonna have and you gonna create in California.

A -- stand -- health care coverage you -- go yes and putting it in my words you would decrease quality of health care in the united somebody -- that's what's happening California that's what's gonna happen if you work is -- inevitable in California.

Well it's inevitable over the country BS in California inevitable all over the country when you flood the system with thirty million more.

Uninsured people you asked doctors to take care of them at a time when we have a tremendous doctor sure.

This only would apply to those people who are now getting free health care coverage Medicaid -- medi cal believe it's called it wouldn't apply to someone like me who I don't.

It's from -- no I don't agree because the more you stretch the doctors the less of them -- -- to -- around the more that my office floods the less time for your phone calls our story.

If it took it took global problem across the board and I think no one solution I have four that you might not like.

Is that if it instead of the government extending insurance which is ridiculous.

I think -- -- have provided incentives for medical students coming out of medical school to work in underserved area behind it's not gonna happen don't know it is time next year Obama -- he's in full force on the right about that.

It you are right about that and -- -- -- I don't know whether the other night by the way.

-- is interfering all this insurance is interfering with the doctor patient relationship which is the primary Portugal for health -- time we got a doctor and we appreciate your opinions tonight and disputes.

Let's.
