And founder so good to have you here thanks for coming again.
There are as as wonderful as your story -- there are hundreds of other stories perhaps thousands like it.
In the United States where people dream of coming here -- learning at a place like MIT or Stanford.
And go 12 to set up a business that employs thousands of US citizens.
Tell us about your story and whether you think it's emblematic of what happens to others.
-- yet that's true my story isn't that uncommon I showed up in this country with fifty dollars in my pocket.
And -- -- -- as kind enough to educate me.
And I went on to start a couple of companies.
My existing company Tibco Software has.
Thousands of employees.
We've gone from virtually no revenue to over a billion in just a little over a decade.
And for every and bus and I -- There's probably ten other people.
There are employed by partners and other companies.
So it makes no sense to spend hundreds of thousands educating these kids.
And then forcing -- -- go back home.
In fact -- affect you and I've spoken before about this and you say if somebody's getting a college degree here.
You should simply step that green card right there upon their graduation put it on the diploma and say stay here.
It we are your friend if you want to start a business we just think of your own experience.
Think of Sergey Brin of Google.
Larry Page these or immigrant kids and and you look at -- -- -- say look at how many people -- now.
Higher that -- was founded.
By immigrant kids at these are these are real opportunities for this nation what are we getting wrong what should we be doing to get it right.
Well we need to make these kids welcome it's no secret if you walk through the halls of any graduate program and the engineering school.
-- -- the kids are foreign bond.
If we send these kids back.
We're not -- -- be having innovation.
In this country were not going to be growing companies a half -- revenue every year comes from products that didn't exist five years ago.
So I need the best and the brightest.
To keep growing my company.
And I believe this country needs the best and the brightest.
In order to have new companies being started all the time.
One other thing that's happened now -- is for the first time in 200 years education is going to a revolution.
So now.
Any kid anywhere will be able to have an MIT or Stanford education.
On -- -- at home.
So now the pool has gotten even -- so let us hire the best and the brightest and only gonna create more jobs for this country.
You know we had that eight temporary workers planned for about 22 years in this country was.
It was focused on workers at a lower class basis workers -- came over temporarily from Mexico.
It worked very well that was called the breast Sarah program.
From about 1946 until the mid sixties.
The unions finally killed -- because they didn't like the competition but what about.
For a higher level program for PH -- to have a temporary worker rather net.
A permanent green card perhaps -- something just short of that acting -- being.
-- I think anything that allows us to make it -- to hire these people will be a good thing.
We I've said this to list before that we're not asking anything from the government.
-- we believe in what I call the church of Silicon Valley.
The -- of innovation from.
And my business is growing rapidly I need to be of higher up people I don't care where they come from.
If you look at my own executive staff.
-- -- microcosm of the valley and of my company so I have my head of hr and my CFO Americans women.
My C -- -- Australian my CEO is Canadian my head of sales historic -- my head of engineering is Indian my head of so this has this Chinese.
I have -- deemed him and they come from everywhere so let me hire the best and the brightest and of these kids wanna start companies let's keep them here.
And then in the overall paying taxes and none of them are taking handouts which is important thank you so is -- -- that's great to see you think that -- -- the company is typical software it's known as the 22 advantage software there in the New York Stock Exchange health exchanges statement congrats for your success.
