-- more bad jobs news on the day that we see weekly jobless claims rising had planned layoffs spiking.

President Obama's jobs council is -- officially disbanded the group of business and that labor leaders is officially out of commission.

And my next -- say good -- mean not.

These small business guys say the White House and letting them down again baker David McCarthy.

Hospitality executive told me -- year and -- restaurant owner Marco Lynne Cheney who met with the president back in 2009 and hasn't seen.

Much helps -- so let's start -- start with.

You Marko you were with the president what was all that about -- what did he say to you that you were hoping for.

Yes Tom when -- met with the president three years ago.

He had just announced the economic stimulus act and what he had told me was that this is gonna help small business owners amounts -- like myself.

Go out there and grow their business and create more jobs.

What we're hearing today makes absolutely no sense it's completely the opposite why in the world with the White House -- their their council on jobs is beyond me.

Well they've they've met four times in two years so.

I told Bob.

What did did yes did you feel that the governor -- was going to solve whatever issues you needed in the hospitality business.

Now we -- we never thought that they were on the solemn we thought they did at least give us a fair chance.

They talk a good game but I think the jobs council was created.

Strictly for him do get Republicans on his side and and get some votes and now that he's not running again.

He just disbanded it you know the White House keeps talking and they're doing things -- make it easier for the entrepreneurs to start up business.

And help small business but obamacare as -- helped us.

-- will expand our businesses and hire people.

But when we want to know that you know that Washington's on our side not gonna -- against us.

You feel that -- you did you feel that they -- the enemy as opposed to the friend.

Don't want yeah I mean you have to take this small business person -- -- hotels.

I -- retail cigar operation I'm a partner in.

Lanier parking holdings try.

-- -- lots of employees.

And IA I could expand them bring on more people but.

I'm never know for what they're what they're going to be doing -- Washington.

Denied a David.

You're in the -- business and security it all comes down to I mean you've got a product that last one day.

So you -- to be really careful about your inventory and you have to be really careful and judge demand how many customers are gonna commit today to buy my products.

So has demand -- -- tell -- -- us.

The other demands less than it was before the -- -- year because everybody's making 2% less than what they work.

This is the same president that told these people there was going to be no tax increases in the same president that told us about the seventeen different tax breaks again for small business.

You know if you had your faith in this terrible for you voted and you voted for him and you own a small business are you work for a small -- You know I've got a bridge for sale and Brooklyn and I live a long way away aren't gonna help it well enough then there's been nothing but promises.

It is true mark go back to -- what about that what about the the fact that the government really.

You small business owners never rely upon the government you rely upon your own but you know whatever -- -- -- you've got.

We do and politicians don't create jobs at small business owners announced -- -- words like us.

But that's also why can't understand why in the world -- -- cancel your your council on jobs because it's it's those people that are out there in the trenches.

Creating jobs across small towns and cities all across America and why would you stop.

That dialogue -- not listen to them is beyond me.

-- what about.

Obamacare.

Every -- of the question they had been at least last year.

Was the uncertainty of the uncertainty the uncertainty.

Of what it was going to cost you feel any more uncertainty.

Hit or heading more certainty now that we got one month under our belt for January 2013.

Now we don't we don't feel more certain about anything relative to Obama care.

And you know we're we're we're just waiting for another shoe to drop on us and and as the general for -- said you know people are taking home less money.

Fortunately the hotel business.

-- -- has been doing good in spite of Washington.

But at the same time because a tax issues and so more than obamacare a lot of people afraid to build new product right now.

I a year in the hospitality business or do you rely upon discretionary spending or are you relying upon businesses to go out and have conferences and conventions and things like that.

Well you rely on both I have a known hotels -- rely on business travelers.

Certain times in the year never a rely on.

-- certain parts of the time so I'm a mix.

And then decide the Hilton flags and DoubleTree flags and those kinds of OK and so how's business.

Taken -- was telling them what that business has been good and were projecting for this coming year.

Five to 6% increase in average daily rate and occupancy.

David how about you how to -- business.

We'll visit the -- -- business is not good because we're 100% in the discretionary.

Spending business just like most -- restaurants and things around the country.

I keep saying when Applebee's has run into for wanting you think they're American -- -- I got to pull people in the in the doors just to keep an open.

And you know we're now we've got Obama care kick in hand and you know expenses are going up and the end here you know when when you when expenses go up it's not necessarily some but I can absorb.

They get passed along to -- employee the employee has left -- -- the so there's no such thing as a recovery in sight.

We have no economic policy we have no energy policy.

Fuel is back up again.

I mean people wonder why consumer confidence and confidence from the business -- was down.

And it and the president -- vote at all a deal like this come on this -- campaign on jobs and the economy bigger -- inaugural speech on what.

Immigration.

Constructing roads and more liberal you know rhetoric.

There's not you don't you know want to some other stuff to the socialist -- -- get rid of small business and we can control the big guys are frustrated I'm Margaret.

I hear it -- one of the things I've you've -- the president saying what I get from the morning I think about jobs.

Right go to bed and -- thinking about jobs.

You think he's kind of forgotten about them.

It I don't think that he's necessarily forgotten about it I just don't think that he knows how to create jobs and again it's it's people.

Like -- the -- -- the small business owners that create them if you've been a politician.

And you haven't run anything or going out and started a business how are you gonna know how to actually create those jobs which is why council -- jobs was important and should be important.

And to me should not have been the standard.

-- right.

But Toma Marco David thank you gentlemen very much thank you so much --
