Blackberry unveiling -- -- versions of its Smartphones today and new name Daniel -- Hudson square research analyst at today's event.
Black pretend looks like it's ready to take on iphones in the -- rights but I wonder too many consumers have jumped ship to the competition already what do you think.
Yeah that's been my call I think it's gonna to -- for for BB ten that -- I'll let the easy part ways over rightward.
Everything that -- now there are control they can design the software design the hardware.
Now detection dogs sell right now I -- -- there's going to be a lot harder than it was to build a building it was three years rate.
The other big issue for rim is.
-- for they've really big problem because there -- services company.
They generate about four billion -- here in search revenues about two billion dollars almost -- -- adopt that's all -- profits today that never really been a hardware margin company.
As they -- on the last earnings call it.
There -- start to trickle down that services V and eventually you go away and -- -- -- you know any manufacturer -- hardware.
That is that is really worrisome I'm also wondering you know I'm one of those people that still hasn't Blackberry because I don't like to -- my name iPhone and I need to keyboard and so clinging to get people -- at -- -- -- -- lots of people feel that way.
Is it Smart for them to go out and chase this touch screen -- all.
Well I I mean that.
The the members -- I don't bear out what what you said in people often talk about wanted to keyboard.
And that -- -- -- if you wanna keyboard is the gotta go -- -- but but the numbers globally don't speak to.
-- -- keyboards being all that important element they have a right and you keyboard -- I think that they're here for the loyalists -- all Italian market.
But again have the problem is -- to make a lot of money on the margins are and his loyalists and today they don't yeah the other -- -- But are there growth the last few years from overseas where there to keep he gets very low cost android phones.
You you've -- -- -- -- for -- you were there in person is there anything they jitters said that surprised or impressed you being there in person.
Well I think the funny thing is.
We've been seeing this roll out for three years ever since they bought the company Q and acts we've seen bits and pieces this software.
-- software that runs the playbook was.
Faith in the same software we saw today that had to -- developer events over the years and so would we really.
You know it didn't get that much new on the I I think that that the -- -- application that they can -- that with Apple's.
Is augmented by a screen -- it's pretty innovative there's a lot of features that they showed.
That -- -- benefit yeah I I think.
Have a hard time find them getting customers back yet hit bottom line and that's because the stock is up more than 200% since it was -- that death spiral but keeping its topped out here -- would you sell it.
Well I mean you know we we downgraded.
I dared to before the last earnings call because it -- doubled from our last -- we are worried.
About the execution risk going into the lines that we saw -- of another you know pre launch.
Cycle -- which happens a lot with consumer -- -- and now we're kind of seeing -- sell on the news yeah I think there's a lot worse -- -- risk.
From here -- -- this report years than they actually had before this data aren't thanks so much.
