Regulation -- -- The adult entertainment industry threatening to move out of California because of new county regulations requiring reformers to Wear condoms while filming joining us is the CEO of one of the largest producers.

In the business Steve -- A vivid entertainment thanks for being -- this is Steve.

So I was read somewhere that some 350000.

Scenes in the adult -- film business have been.

Reported since 2004 without condoms.

And not a single case of HIV.

What is the problem that LA county was trying to solve here.

Well I don't think LA county was really trying to solve any problem but there was a group AIDS Healthcare Foundation.

That put this on the ballot spent millions of dollars campaigning.

And got this thing passed it's really you know a solution looking for a problem but there really is no problem.

Does it -- hurt the industry because customers simply don't.

Want that I mean maybe they watch your -- because they wanna see more dangerous sex and they have -- their own lives.

Well I mean yes it's true that consumers definitely you don't want to watch movies with condoms.

But the other part of that is movies are being shot all over the world without condoms.

So does subject us to one sort of rules and the rest of the world to something else we don't think it's.

There is an effort actually just -- to force you out of the county how many jobs it desert industry employed locally.

While the LA times said 101000 jobs.

And a billion dollar industry within the city of Los Angeles with the the county of Los Angeles.

So certainly you know there are a lot of people who are employed I don't think that the county necessarily wants to push us out.

But we're in this position we have no choice but to file a lawsuit and see what happens.

And yet still you would think that in the porn industry that's where HIV would run rampant if anywhere because -- have multiple sex partners and no condoms why happen HIV a Big Ben out a big problem in your industry you guys -- self regulation right.

Well yeah I mean the testing that's in place and has been in place for many years works and works while.

All of the performers are tested either every fifteen or thirty days.

And this is you know has evolved over time and as a result of that there's been absolutely.

No HIV transmitted in the industry in fact the New York Times said.

The adult industry is a model for HIV prevention so again this whole thing doesn't really make sense but we have no choice but to move forward.

And is this part of a bigger anti business.

Environment in California some business people tell me it's the worst state in the nation to try to build a business and.

Why you know I'm not sure about that and that that's a question for them I know that for us.

We would like to continue to produce our movies here.

This is where the majority of companies are based but a force to will move also.

And you file this lawsuit now challenging it based on of First Amendment violation give the US Supreme Court.

Was upheld the right of videogame makers have put all the violence they want their products what are your hopes for success you think you'll win.

Well.

I did so we would have filed that if we didn't think we would -- we believe that we have a right to freedom of expression.

There has to be an actual problem in need of solving and clearly there's no problem with 300000.

-- being shot.

Not one case of HIV.

So we don't believe that there's any reason for the government to come in and impede on our first -- them.

Right -- and yet the people loved it 56% voted in favor.

Sometimes democracy kind of curious thanks for being with a Steve -- of vivid entertainment good day sir.
