How do we feel about how -- how we feel about -- future.
Not that good and you Gallup poll shows only 39% of view and those -- positive about the state of the country.
This is -- lowest reading on optimism since Jimmy Colorado was in office.
Joining us now to our boss just how strong the day if you -- I confess I pondered.
A and I -- honest I am wildly positive they believe they now look.
If you listen to the president's speech.
You and I both want to -- -- prosperity we want to restore optimism to the United States and to do that I think you and I agree.
We've gotta have economic growth we've got a half.
Do you think that the president's policies as enunciated in that speech on gonna give us four -- 5% growth you -- -- -- my crystal ball wasn't working totally perfectly this morning so I can't predict the future for you but I act elect I don't think he was really that specific in that speech about what he's going to do I know a lot of people feel -- -- laid out this very.
Wildly progressive liberal agenda I didn't really see that.
As you know I'm still one of the few that's holding out hope that he is going to take on entitlements and -- -- -- -- our long term.
Issues how ever will -- didn't send a lot of signals and that speeds they he's going to be easy that I -- But in his signals will all about weak and attacks people stumble we're gonna tax the rich some mall we're not.
Gonna cut spending significantly.
In fact I employ your use tax as much as -- I didn't hear anything about our cutting spending I certainly -- the -- that thing from us senator Schumer.
They knew that no doubts what -- we want more revenue this is an opportunity to bring in more revenue.
So taxes are gonna go up spending is really not going to be Cox I just don't see that and the president is totally -- totally ignored the debt.
I gotta tell because that back is not a recipe for strong economic.
While he did he did not that I would say that I don't think inaugural speeches are usually a time to sort of Rumanian about it you know the problems in the country and George question and talk about how he didn't find WMD -- in this sector not well -- -- anybody expect him to.
That sad I did it in there is a lot of concern I think for people who are sort of the clintonian Democrats.
And -- -- on the right that.
-- doesn't seem really about -- in dealing with spanning.
Now how that affects us in the short term you're asked what kind of growth -- re gonna -- I don't know that does really affect us in the short term that the economy could turn around and it could turn around at that rate that -- be wonderful I think that that's.
5% is probably more than what most people are expecting -- -- -- -- one week from today.
We gonna get the big -- picture reading on economic growth and I am told reliably it will be down to 1% growth woman small change may be.
That's going in the wrong direction and the threat of higher taxes may drag us down some more.
Wow I don't know about I mean I don't know about the tax issue but I think that obviously 1% gross.
And 1% growth -- -- But I also don't think that if we don't have 5% I think 5% seems a little overly optimistic considering where we started.
You know what we're coming out -- I think it's gonna be.
A long recovery and the online -- I.
I I just wanna finish it up because you know you and -- spot for a long time now about where you stand within the Democrats.
I suspect that the president came out more to the left -- -- comfortable with -- right.
-- Actually it's funny I I really felt like it was a very -- -- speech now if heat.
Eat -- it if in fact he's not gonna do anything to -- -- long term.
I'm entitlement spending and I actually think they need to be defense cuts as well.
That I have a problem but I you know and that's because I thought -- most of things that he raised were sort of general issues that the average Americans support the only place where he kind of got outside of that.
-- was on gay rights but I support gay right.
A get a fair enough but it was a were a financial program investment interest.
Justin it's a we will -- again another -- -- probably well if if I can't get a thank you.
Back to the call.
