Back to you thank you ridge ridge has been down in Washington President Obama mentioned and just about everything.

From gun control to climate change and has inaugural address.

One thing was almost missing now.

Jobs joining us with more is.

Steve Moore senior economics writer and editorial board member at the Wall Street Journal.

He laid out his agenda whole host of things.

Why not why not focus on jobs more does -- think that this recovery is so on track that the jobless rate will continue to fall Steve.

I dig in while I was struck by that -- that in the hole speech he didn't talk about jobs he did not talk about private business and entrepreneur or sent.

And the free enterprise system that was -- very real pro government speech now the -- that has a big challenge ahead because we still out.

But -- 8% unemployment rate in this country dig and over the last four years of this supposed of recovery as you know that.

The job creation rate has been about a half to 13 of what you would normally expect.

During an expansion so job should be jobs number one but I I also was struck by the fact that need to I don't think he even mentioned the word jobs in that entire speech.

Recap this I believe you mentioned that we did and I stick around and -- that -- three times.

But all that note if you goes through the list of things that he covered that he wants to tackle.

The it guys said gun control at the top immigration climate change and equal pay for women I could go along.

But if he focuses on this and some are a lot of this gets accomplished what does that do the economy what does that -- to jobs doesn't help at all.

Well if you look at the broad overall agenda of the president as you know -- and I don't think a lot of this helps the economy much and I don't think it helps employers and think about the things that are gonna hit the economy going forward we just out.

A big capital gains tax big dividend tax increase a big tax increase on small businesses -- the highest income tax rate was raised.

You've got obamacare that's coming down not pike which.

Hits -- -- employers with more than fifty workers a lot of employers are already holding back on their employment because about.

I know we've talked about things like that that god cap and trade and climate change legislation that's that's clearly a negative for the economy so those -- matters but you do like out of wanna be entirely negative your data there are positives for the economy right now you know we've got guys you just you mentioned the fact that the housing market is picking up no question about that and the other big one added ironically here's the irony dig in of this -- You know that the number one sector that is creating -- in the economy.

Over the last three years has been the oil and gas industry and that's the sector of the economy he hates the most fit.

How well you know what -- -- not a Smart politician if you've got in in the way of that in the next four years Steve I don't let.

I wanted to just quickly say 2100 words in that address and job or jobs with mentioned three times by our -- -- I've got a there -- state it was great is likely you you'd -- well.

Update -- people should read did -- and -- Wall Street Journal today we have an excerpt from president Reagan's 1984 inauguration he imagined jobs about fifty times about speech because the job market was really expanding background.

Steve good to speak with the SE CRA on the while -- -- take care of the markets now these number.
