We related problems are being investigated we've got somebody who is now maintaining his outperform on the -- loves it despite all the short term problems Robert's been -- aerospace and defense analyst.
At Credit -- okay did I just missed becoming I I didn't hoping their short term -- really believe -- short term.
I do I think these are short term issue and it's a question whether we're going to be flying in the few days or longer than that.
But I think you know we're talking about batteries and assume is the soon assuming it's not part of the electrical system.
And it is just the batteries I suspect that Boeing can fix this identify the fix and a few weeks perhaps a couple of months and start to implement it props even be flying.
Again before that fully happens Robert don't they have to come out though with a big public relations push.
There's nothing that will turn people off of of a flight as as quickly as any suggested that.
Flight might go down I mean how -- they combat the public perception that this is a dangerous aircraft.
Well I think that the and that's a very fair point I've flown on the aircraft.
-- I would say that we've seen situations like this in the past with many newly new entry aircraft.
-- go back through Boeing's history and Airbus just has moved you know recently perhaps a year ago or so.
The 8380 for example had issues within but -- they can and -- take a big chunk of their resources now and hit the campaign trail for this plane.
No I don't think so I think people need to why they believe in the safety of of Boeing's R&D.
They've got a great track -- record in general and I do think they need to come out and talk about what the fix is make that clear to the public.
And they'll move forward past this.
Okay move forward pass that but right now the big competitor out there is Airbus do you think that this pushes some investors to simply say.
I don't want any trouble.
I'd just don't want to see those still photos of burned out batteries -- even pieces of equipment and does this mean a real win for Airbus.
Well actually some people are going to look at it that way they're gonna see these photos they're gonna wonder what's gonna happen in the short term so I think from a near term prospective you may see some rotation.
From one company into the other from -- into Airbus.
But over the long term these things generally get fixed.
And we find that the stocks fully recover and and returned to their previous trajectory excellent point about that Robert.
We in the the first part of the show we have Richard fish drop in the Dallas but he said that the way these.
Companies corporations America every structured is nothing short of phenomenal and Boeing is that is an example of that.
They have already worked into their -- their plans or strategies the fact that there will be a downsizing.
In the military because that is such a big part of their business have have they done a sufficient amount of work there even if though the worst happens from their perspective and they're huge cuts in the military.
Well I don't I'm not sure we all know what the worst is and -- and we are constantly thinking about this I would say Boeing has the benefit.
Relative to peers being a company that can downsize on the military side and move resources.
Out to the commercial side and that's unique for Boeing and it's a positive.
Robert -- -- who has by the way and 86 dollar price target.
For the struck -- Boeing thanks for coming in appreciate Robert thank you thanks revenue contrarian -- -- thank you know I don't get a good company going -- about time twelve massive defense cuts we just talked about could still be coming and that could spell more bad news for Boeing it also will hit the state of North Carolina.
Especially -- coming up next.
We'll look at how some companies already are bracing for.
