Here at the Willis report we bring you the stories of government abuse of our taxpayer dollars every day and today -- got a doozy.
They say crime pays and boy does it.
Inmates held at Rikers Island here in New York have been suing the city for injuries they say they received in jail.
Now some say they slipped on soap in the shower while others say the beds were too short and injured then.

Department of corrections has been -- 8500 times between 2007 and -- -- -- eleven.
Not clear how many of those suits were filed by inmates but more and more seem to be filed every year take a look at these numbers.
The number of claims has risen from under 15100 in 2007 to more than 1812011.
And -- -- they are nothing to sneeze -- Nearly fifteen and a half million dollars last year alone and almost 44 million the year before that again these are also it's against the department of correction.
And this is just one city and Wednesday.
How is it that people a broken a lot committed violent crimes not just against fellow citizens but against society.
Then have the freedom to take taxpayer dollars.
Not right.
Society loses twice.
The most recent statistics for total spending on corrections in this country with 74 billion dollars.
We spent nine million dollars a year incarcerating people awaiting trial.
Who can't afford bail.
Cutting costs are we now are illegitimate like nuisance suits would seem to be a small way to start cutting back on those costs.
