Small business drives job creation this country and confidence among small business owners rose last month but remain near historically low levels.
That's according to a new survey from the National Federation of Independent Business joining us now to assess what's going on -- businesses country and the path to prosperity.
A man who knows certainly home Depot's co-founder Bernie Marcus good ahead with this break.

I thank you thank you same news we're hearing a lot of talk about gun control and immigration and debt ceiling of all of this stuff in Washington DC.
And I and I just heard yesterday just a slight tack on a mention of jobs.
They're still not focusing on job creation and small business -- -- I don't know I I wonder whether or not these congressmen or senators or anybody in the White House.
Ever goes into a restaurant sits down and talk the owner of the restaurant.
And said -- how tell me honestly how things are.
They wouldn't get the rosy picture that they're getting from the economist because they're not it's not a rosy picture -- -- be an answer an idea I spoke to a restaurant tour today.
And he said a major issue is coming up with him in the started about a week ago he said his employees.
Are getting their paychecks.
And they're getting less and they don't get it.
They they don't understand why they're getting less than their paychecks they don't have to -- -- the tax was put in.
And frankly what's gonna happen and small businesses all over United States.
If people -- gonna -- lessen their paycheck they have a come back and say I can't live on what you're paying me I need more money.
And this and the squeeze is going to start to come.
And these small business people are getting squeezed now you know we started something called job creators alliance.
And the purpose was.
I started as a small business melanoma one of the hated 1% now but I started as a small businessman in 1978.
And we opened our first home depots in 9079.
And the first five years or very very very -- we work 1516.
Hour day seven days a week.
And I remember and -- -- its impregnated into my brain what we went through and how difficult it was to run a business.
And imagine a kid from Newark, New Jersey with immigrant parents being able to get where I got today and it it -- it it pains me debt.
This same opportunity is not going to be out there today because of government interference and I'm talking about.
Government period until about the Republicans and the Democrats.
It seems that they go to Washington and -- Lou what they wanna do was write laws.
I wish that they would take a vacation.
Like every every year let him go play golf with the get with the president you know for seven months a year -- be better off.
-- -- An idea and the 112 congress Bernie tried that out.
They they just -- over a few laws 200 laws.
That congress there though the least productive congress in recorded history.
If it's modern history so that they try to adopt that the president was doing pretty good to except he came back they did that this report thing -- Part of the reason for -- that through that 2% increase in taxes that you're referring to or everyone.
Well let me let me but it but it -- yet you -- ask you yeah.
We knew were starting Home Depot where your member of the chamber of commerce -- your member of the business roundtable.
Because what -- perceives him until divide between small business and big business in this country right.
You you're 100% right.
When I was who we were so busy working we had no time for any these organizations.
And frankly what's until about the twentieth year that I began that.
Make speaking towards -- talking to other business people joining chambers.
Up until last time I was just too busy that's why this the this thing that we -- -- job -- alliance.
Is something where they're gonna have a voice they going to be able to -- tell their stories.
We're gonna put it on on in this cities that they live in in the states that -- -- in.
So America understands what they going through I can give you an example about one particular businessman that I know.
He is struggling between rising costs.
And the rising cost are.
-- the book because of the rising cost of the gasoline remember -- -- Obama took over.
A gas was a hundred dollar 82 it's now 35360.
Up until four dollars and everything has gone up every product the commodities have gone up first though they had caught in the squeeze.
And.
I'll let you know a lot of blogs are through -- three million Americans are still don't have jobs.
And certainly not the jobs they want.
