Well as we say goodbye to 2012 -- in the new year -- -- report is taking a look back.

At some of the hottest companies in the tech world plus -- giving you a sneak peek at some ground breaking gadgets that could hit shoe store shelves in 2013.

So should you hold on -- getting the iPhone 5 or not let's ask.

-- patch doll tech analyst for national icon.

I wanna start with -- -- that iPhone 5 issue about what you call the top tech winners at 2012.

Marissa Mayer Ron -- I should say she was a big winner.

Gas on the it's really amazing.

How she's turned around Yahoo!.

Well at least its reputation.

In a very short period when it started years at a new CEO Scott Thompson.

People were sceptical of it and then they launched sort of and who advised patent -- with FaceBook.

Lot of ill will has had a -- issue and he was out they've got Marisa mail and -- Marisa Mayer and -- she's been she's been great it was a that in the big difference is everyone's rooting for her and she's actually.

Latched on to some of Yahoo!'s better products like Flickr.

Read it.

Credits.

Kind of a no brainer I mean because.

Obviously the president of the United States how did -- ask me anything.

On the site which is basically go on and the sites users can ask you questions and beauty -- kind of more or less in real time that a huge win for them Google.

Google yeah there isn't a bit of a mixed year but they definitely not on top -- because -- launched.

Some pretty cool products this year with the Google nexus seven it's the best and great album of the year I think.

And it sort of establish them kind of a bit of as a hardware player plus their core product search.

Maps stronger than ever.

Amazon.

Amazon still the leader in android tablets even -- Google -- some really great one.

And there -- still the leader in terms of like the best Nortel as Samsung.

Samsung that was interesting because they obviously lost a big -- -- apple -- here but they're winning the market.

All right let's about -- flops -- here let's move on.

That is the biggest flops -- 2012 starting with apple why is apple why well I wouldn't.

The biggest flop that was a tough call -- they've had a mixed year but it had to put them into the winner or loser column might have to say -- it just because an apple maps.

Was such a black guy and that people are starting to see that this company is apparently a little bit of a little more fallible than they thought plus they -- want to disruptive product.

Since the original iPad and I think that's a really good point FaceBook.

FaceBook -- the -- did not -- did not do that well on did not satisfy investors or users are still seem to be having -- privacy and transparency issues.

And I think he got a lot of cleanup for next year.

Microsoft.

-- -- that was the league call we didn't really know how that was gonna go for them again is also an early call because I don't think.

There -- windows -- which is the big product launch toward the end of the year -- efficiently.

In a -- yet but it's early signs -- that people are quite responding to it like.

They would have -- -- kids still do well and when he thirteen we'll see what and -- the makers of Blackberry I think we all know what the problem -- -- happening yeah yeah they're not doing so well they have launched new hardware -- -- long time and obviously there waiting for their big new hardware launch next year but they seem to have lost so much ground in the meantime it's gonna be kind of a miracle to Anna's biggest losers sounding.

So yeah I mean it's just another name you don't hear anymore and the -- acquired they're mobile arms Sony Ericsson.

Little over a year ago and AB b.'s.

I'll know the iPhone 5 as -- as a great products is the only problem with the iPhone 5 is again apple maps which is a key part of your mobile experience and how to get around now that.

Google just a couple of weeks ago released Google Maps.

For the iPhone.

Again because -- obviously they were that original.

Maps on the iPhone.

But now that it's back on the iPhone 5 is is complete again in -- sense and you can sort of get around your phone.

What you could before all right figured oh you're okay now let me I got phone but it's it's our heads and I'm part of it's great it's a great phone middle.

It has a lot of -- -- -- RP thanks for coming on -- appreciate your time have a great New Year's -- afternoon.
