-- thank you outlook 2013.

As we continue our series on what to expect in the new year today we're going to focus on tech.

And really group president rob Andrew -- It is few names and products that.

May surprise you -- and can we start first rob it's good to see can we start first about FaceBook.

Because you don't think they're going to deliver up about six months ago if I was in California heard on the radio discussion and there it was after the IPO their share price -- fallen to around seventeen bucks.

One guy was saying they'll never recover -- going down to twelve dollars a share look at him today I think they're trading right now -- five dollars so.

Six months ago one guy was wrong why do you think they're not going to deliver.

Well.

Really looks like the organizational structure of FaceBook is one that's not allowing them to wrap their head around.

The advertising revenues that they have to pull -- they're not really controlling their image well but they don't seem to understand advertising -- for me.

Much like oil company didn't understand gasoline if you don't understand the -- that -- richer revenue.

I think you're not gonna do well generating that revenue and FaceBook and we -- -- the blow up over the F answer gram over the holidays where is where his sister and -- picture went out.

And she's the ex head of marketing and that wasn't handled well.

Right did -- she didn't realize that if you get tagged in a photo the photos and potentially public tell everybody you think someone high up at FaceBook would have known that.

The debate about apple I think alike either love it or hate it I kinda love apple love apple products you don't think Tim Cook is going to be able to deliver going forward either.

Well -- you look at apple it's it's it's like looking at a Super Bowl team and then after the Super Bowls over the quarterback.

Up passes away a lot of the key players leave the company.

There's a lot of turmoil down on down on the ranks the coaches are all gone and -- you say okay.

Well so what are the chances the gonna in the super Super Bowl again next year -- make much slimmer none.

It's not but I figure Apple's gonna fall with is that there at such a high right now even after they've slept.

That that they have to be -- before absolutely and the apple of today is the same apple we had even a year ago a lot of the key players are gotta -- the balance between engineering and design are gone.

And are starting to -- products out dot.

The iPad may be the product became a 65%.

-- market something that Steve Jobs would never intentionally do once the market -- -- monetized.

Like the seven -- market did they're doing all right -- -- the selling the faithful but they've got to sustain those sales now next year that the people already have their product.

And it's going to be increasingly difficult is to be looking at lot of different products so a lot like the apple was in the late ninety's.

-- throwing -- products fairly rapidly and a lot of weren't sticking.

Robert Tim Cook came out -- compact that's his training is much more like an HP much more like a Dell.

How much more like those companies he peed in terms of personality and and this position he was never Steve Jobs clone and from four to apple was designed to run.

I or Steve Jobs.

Yeah case is Steve Jobs is gone Tim cookies in it does apple ever recover -- -- the historic price you know levels we -- for their their stock.

Just a few months ago.

Is it seems that mean as they say if you change enough of a company that's been trading very well that's been doing excellent making almost no mistakes.

You change as much as Apple's changed.

It's difficult that -- the odds are against it so that it's always possible but the odds right now against it.

The apple today is not the apple that was trading at -- highs and it's gonna take a -- -- the company -- stabilize -- around the new team.

-- -- tell me I've got to cut short but I got to ask you very quickly Nokia the looney had a 920 flop or success is this -- gonna help them because Samsung surpassed them it's number one you got one.

It's my -- phone.

I bet though that you have that I -- the ninth when he at -- really between rim and Nokia now going the next year -- looking -- -- looking a little bit weaker.

Those -- companies are -- really try to come back next next year out rim with a brand new platform.

Nokia with a follow on the ninth when he night when he's actually sold very well so that so about that it's gotta be a race to see which company can actually restore their.

They're old glory.

Both of them are looking pretty good right now but resisted -- -- -- carrying this much money.

Does red -- competitors say an HP or someone by -- I think it is still too expensive be purchased.

And they feel lord if there's ever really does want to do and are actually that I'm I'm -- -- -- I'll be back up and a third of so lot.

Sought to I think -- independent -- much to the year they are acquisition target.

If they don't recover by mid year.

I can't believe I didn't ask any questions about cars because I really wanted to get -- GM and Ford in their tech battle -- we've run out of time.

Rob and nearly appreciate your being here -- -- -- -- --
