-- Carey's entire life has prepared him for this role to -- America's foreign policy.

Over these many years jobs earn the respect and confidence of leaders around the world he is not need a lot of on the job training.

He has earned the respect and trust of the senate colleagues Democrats.

And Republicans.

-- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- Or -- or foreign policies as firmly as John Kerry and this makes him a perfect choice to -- American diplomacy in the years ahead.

-- high praise for one of the the people in this administration for room.

Of this job was a natural this obviously coming after -- -- rice.

Ambassador rice was -- withdrew her name from consideration.

Joining us now -- former pentagon official -- his national security analyst KT McFarland former US ambassador to the United Nations John Bolton John Bolton.

What do you think of this carry appointment.

Well I think it'll be more of the same only worse.

I think.

I think his views and the president's are essentially the same I think the president sought up close and personal in four years on the Senate Foreign Relations Committee.

Kerry's been wrong on nuclear proliferation about Iran and North Korea he's been wrong on dealing with Russia on arms control and missile defense.

He's been wrong on China I mean I could go on.

But I I think that -- run out of countries John -- The president the president got what he wanted and it it will be more of the San.

Kate did the year.

It sure -- sure how the president won election does she knows this is a guy is gonna get confirmed pretty -- He represents a sort of mainstream.

Of American foreign policy is a little bit -- left for me but he does far leftist figure.

The first tourists at the -- And it's it's interest thing and John McCain others that came out with with -- on reserve support.

For Senator Kerry but let's turn to if we -- the the failure.

-- -- -- And -- this report -- looks.

To me and -- varying views on this and it's an utter one more -- It's OK also misses the point you know really know what happen.

Before and during there was -- -- -- or cover of the got away with ten -- what the important thing is.

Why it happened afterwards which is nothing they never hunted down they never retaliated they never responded.

Look at what happened for the original September 11.

In 1998.

There were al-Qaeda attacks on US embassies in East Africa and 2000 attack on the USS -- we did not respond.

We beefed up security at the embassy which changed rules of engagement.

A -- -- a lot before September 11.

He had a recruitment video -- see America doesn't respond.

Paper tiger let's go kill more Americans I think by failing to respond.

We know who did this attack we know where the training camps are by failing to respond we've given them a green light in -- again.

Is there any hope John that we will indeed learned the truth of what happened have been Gaza in the there'll be any one.

Above the rank of assistant secretary ever held accountable.

Well I think the chances are remote I think the one chance that's left is Hillary Clinton's testimony and you know both senator Bob Corcoran and senator Lindsey Graham.

Have now said there shouldn't be a new secretary of state until Hillary Clinton testifies.

So this certainly -- -- advises John Kerry.

At define some time on Hillary's busy schedule and the next we week or so.

And see if they can't -- up there that this report does not answer a huge range of questions.

The mainstream media for three months is paid there's no attention.

So it's I think it's hard but I think the fact is that the policy failures that.

Ended up in that tragedy and -- guys they have not been changed and with John Kerry and I in office.

Every prospect is they'll simply continue down the same road which invites more tragic.

It is chilling that this three month.

Of stonewalling.

Our hands succeeded to this point and that there is no indication irrespective of the occurrence of Secretary Clinton -- let's hope that I am being.

Overly skeptical here.

But irrespective of her parents before congress.

That we roll -- soon -- -- break and that and that Stonewall.

I think you well they've got away with -- people are gone away for the Christmas holidays when they come back they'll be a new government whose secretary of state.

But to me again the question -- two years ago Middle East was -- -- But we now face in the Middle East -- from the Atlantic Ocean potentially all the way to Pakistan.

As a recent past economic crisis anti American governments.

And the rise about confident.

And -- Hampshire -- believe that there are John Bolton thank you as always for being with us -- -- -- well.

Great to have you with -- thank you.
