Highway Patrol division chief Jeff Talbot retired last year he made nearly a half million dollars total compensation in the year 2011.

That included about a quarter million dollars thought unused sick and vacation time a lot of money.

One now he's retired but he gets a pension of more than a 170000.

Dollars a yeah.

Here is -- time he is the author of the new updated version of state of the unions and -- is they is that basically a union defender who appears on this program.

Frequent -- welcome back.

Insert the only.

The only support that you can give to this gentleman from his 174000.

Dollars a year pension.

The only rationale for it is that he was promised it.

And -- apple deserves it according to his contract that's it isn't it.

Look -- I'm not really can argue -- view on this I think it is on the face of but it seems outrageous.

I will say it's a bit of an aberration in two senses first of all.

No other state pays its law enforcement people anywhere near -- California does.

And secondly the average did this starting wage for a I would patrolman in California's 68000.

With a maximum of 84000.

Dollars a year I think that's reasonable but this settlement is ridiculous yet.

I mean that the reason I would bring itself.

I don't trying to get -- you because your union to come on trying to do that I'm simply saying look.

California can't afford this they've got to pay it I understand that they've got to pay it but by paying it means you gotta cut back elsewhere.

A -- class size for kids -- in schools for example less health -- a -- people.

You know this kind of exorbitant pension has a cost in California that's my point.

I think that's overstated.

You know one fellow getting.

Of very high.

Payment when he when he leaves -- when he leaves his job is is ridiculous but it's not gonna fact.

A huge state like California in terms of schools -- I think.

But public relations wise it it is ridiculous and again I I I think this needs to be seen as an out liar it's not -- New York for example.

Law enforcement can get no more than thirty vacation days paid to them when they retire so that's the new.

The lady who ran the union for New York State.

When she left the job to take the national position.

She walked away with a check for a 194000.

Dollars of unused sick pay and vacation time.

At a time when they were laying off teaches in New York City because of a lack of money.

Mean you know that that doesn't go down well I don't know how you justify acts.

And we -- well.

Well again you know -- -- that -- contract -- both sides agree to and obviously there's some there's some problems with some of the fine print do whatever needs to be -- the difference between you and me Stuart.

Aside from the fact that you have better hair.

Is that I I look at this stuff and my -- general when I see.

Working people get to lies.

Packages I'm upset when I see corporation's.

-- the corporate executives at the failing to leave their companies probably walking over the hundred million dollars.

I'm upset at both -- only upset -- its workers.

And and another no that's not true -- -- -- -- second item let me move on from -- for a second.

How do you defend the violent actions and the extreme language of union members protesting the right to will local boy in Michigan.

How viewers are looking at a still shot -- -- a union -- -- calling and that.

Lands a punch in the face to someone who is defending -- right to -- laws now go ahead defended union thugs place.

I am not gonna -- union thugs corporate thugs or any.

Thugs just like when you asked me about a year ago when when when -- -- women on New Jersey.

There are comparing.

Governor Christie to to Nazi Germany I send out that was outrageous and -- shut up and apologize.

This isn't anywhere near that outrageous is and one person or a couple people and and and typically the right is gonna take this.

Why would we wanted to know why there's no criminal charges being -- and are not so far no -- -- -- Phil I'm terribly sorry I know you can -- loves that I'm -- -- -- cut it off because I'm really at a time coming up on bright.

Fill -- if you want to thank you very much indeed thanks.
