-- right things about 20%.
His gridlock political infighting and a general mistrust by the public.
Will would be better off if more women are in the senate and they -- you know there's going to be twenty women in the senate -- next year.
That's the premise of a Washington Post article which says the new record number of -- -- up twenty is a good thing under the quote directly from the Washington Post article.
Women are more collaborative and collegial leaders studies have found.
All right joining us now is Kelly -- chorus of the we -- Kelly Jen.
Just because you all a female and because you're assumed to be mall collegial.
More civil.
Surely that doesn't mean that you've got better ounces to the debt crisis doesn't.
While.
-- -- -- some really confuses me are we equal to men are we battered man.
You know I'm I'm puzzled by that I was puzzled by that piece because it seems to be.
Accepting some of these stereotypes that women have been complaining about.
Fur -- hundreds of years -- hold -- and I want the manner or another -- -- Let's get right into this do you think that women are more civil do you think that women on -- collaborative.
Do you think that women are more collegial would you ascribe those characteristics to -- -- I would say some women are but look at the women in political leadership -- you would -- any of those words and Nancy Pelosi for example.
I'm not gonna last question you can decide not to -- I mean that's I'm saying is that you know the the type of women that get into political leadership aren't necessarily.
Be stereotypical.
Women that this.
This Washington Post article seems to think that these women all are I -- to get to be a politician you gotta be topped.
And you gotta play the rough and tumble game on these women are very good at that.
I'm Nancy Pelosi in the senate Patty Murray.
You know and you look at actually some of the more you know collegial bipartisan women a lot of them have actually been Republicans you know the -- I Republicans like the -- it's now would you really think that mob faction was collegial but the that engine damage thank goodness she wants and thank goodness she wasn't -- yet.
Any other thing the idea that because we have more women there's going to be more bipartisanship.
-- as if bipartisanship is never existed.
-- we've got the you know Bowles Simpson commission that was a bipartisan commission it had bipartisan agreement but the president ignored -- so.
There's been many a bipartisan legislation and ideas in Washington but they're not always.
-- taken on by -- one guy was in charge.
Hold on a second religion because we have witnessed Charles Payne who's just -- I had to get -- -- -- -- have had a watch on Friday you know listen to maybe collegial may be the wrong word but I do think -- It is different instincts you know and mothering instincts right -- -- it.
As someone who puts it channels and every -- -- -- stop someone of those housewives shows and I never -- the real housewives of Atlanta we wouldn't vote women into office but but I.
That's exactly I do believe that this you know there -- some cents.
-- traces of truth to some of the stereotypes you do yet.
Monica but it isn't the problem is that -- say women have mother -- and -- things they might look at things in a different way you might think that the positive thing.
I might keep in mind be that -- you know and decades and decades.
Women were told that because we were supposed to be mothers we were supposed to be staying at home and not even voting let alone becoming a part.
The political system you know well said Kelly Jen thanks so much for joining us and we appreciate capital small and thanks for talking about us.
Yeah well you know it's it's it's a good subject twenty women it's a record high will be in the senate next year the Washington Post says they will bring certain characteristics -- them.
And maybe we will get some kind of compromise I frankly disagree with that because.
I'm not sure I want to compromise along the lines of the Washington Post wants to compromise on but that's just my own point of -- Kelly Jen back in a much indeed.
Thank you --
