-- -- call now to be set pro union protests underway mission in the states set to join 23 others and removing the requirement.

The workers join a union in order to work and in certain jobs.

Jeff Flock is in the thick of things literally in Lansing Michigan with much more -- Jeff.

And I've got Bob king the president the UAW but first I want to show you the scene out here Bob or the -- -- -- -- been walking around here my guess is about 121000 people so far many of the inside.

But -- tell you there's not much you can do other than make your voice heard -- you -- I mean is there -- way to head this -- Right it does that seem likely I'm sure they'll be some legal challenges -- it may be that be divine intervention the governor -- sign it.

But other network -- will have -- Michigan and then we're gonna work very extremely hard for the next two years to make sure that we elect people.

That listen to all of Michigan not just to the devices are the Coke Brothers.

Are people like that.

How much this has damaged the union I mean.

You don't get to collect dues from people that say they don't -- be any you know practice what is the impact I have for the UAW were blessed we have members that are very loyal we've got.

Workplaces.

And right to work states in the south denial we get a higher percent participation.

We do a good -- to members will keep doing -- -- -- members understand that if they're gonna get the -- can check their needs to be collective power together.

You have argued that as we look at these these folks out here that you'll have workplaces now where.

If you and I are working for General Motors we both like the same amount of money I could opt out of the union.

And then I'm making more money than you are so we've got -- workplace where you have a divided workforce and the governor said he doesn't want division in the state.

-- but he's creating division -- -- he doesn't have a better asset.

Then the auto workers and the company's working together the tens of thousands of jobs of billions of dollars through collective bargaining.

There were brought into the state of -- and and then he turns around and kind of slap those people on the face it's crazy he -- he wants to unite Michigan this is not indicting Michigan this is dividing Michigan.

After a big win in November.

On the national scale yes you lost your though what they called proposition two here which would have -- shrine to.

The notion that you're not a right to work state right.

You'll loss that the governor said that's why he kind of brought this to the -- that -- -- that Dell lost that.

That's just that's factual the governor had signed a number of right -- bills taken away workers' rights.

But public sector workers rights to bargain and -- -- -- health care at eight study and then the -- -- -- of the say that teachers would not have.

Be able to have dues deductions it was crazy so we said we see that pattern.

We knew that they're gonna bring it up and lame duck we tried to be pre -- that by getting proposition -- -- -- bad things and the ballot we didn't -- as they left -- whatever we didn't pass that but we're here to fight for workers' rights for all working family.

Bob -- always appreciate could talk to yeah thank you we'll see you we're gonna be -- Michigan later in the week his General Motors unveils new trucks.

The economy goes on and we'll see what the impact of this is I give you one more look before we get away perhaps of the crowd outside of Michigan capitol.

Folks in right -- -- police but no.

Violence thus far.
